Absolutely. Living in dozens and dozens of foster homes over the first several years of my life made growing up quick pretty mandatory. There is no escape from the horrible environments you are forced to live in so you have no choice but to survive. Not having anyone who you can truly depend on and who truly has your best interest at heart is a scary life for a kid still in elementary school.
