I know GSP ill will have many of the group. I know a bunch don't deal with going anywhere for this "busy" weekend. I may be headed to a campground I stayed at many times with my grandmother (a week each summer in my Great Uncle's 70's Winnebago back from when I was about 6 until I was 12 or 13). Scusset Beach State Reservation in Cape Cod, MA, right along the canal and just before the Sagamore Bridge. Nice beach, access to bike riding along the canal, and Cape Cod. While I do like the idea of staying there again very much, I can't say the Memorial Day Friday drive there from my part of CT excites me much. I am stalking to change to Fisherman's Memorial (which I have posted about before) in Narragansett, RI instead (have to do some unpleasant I-95 driving, but much less that up to Cape Cod). We'll see how it goes. Either way, I am looking forward to getting out!

We will be part of the GSP crowd coming in the weekend after Memorial Day, but I generally avoid the holiday weekends. Just too many crazy people out for a long weekend.

We are going to our FCRV Spring Rally at the Goshen Fairgrounds
in Connecticut. Can't wait, as this is our first time out this season.

I saw the booth about that at the Hartford RV show... have a nice time!

We avoid the holiday weekends, our pool gets a workout, usually do ribs in the green egg
I DON'T avoid the holiday weekends ( :teeth: ) because its an extra day off that doesn't count as a "day off" from my allotted days and it's 3 nights instead of 2 after having gone through the whole pack and get there! However, I am more thoughtful of where I go so as to avoid the "crazier" of the craziness I have seen in the past (the 15 tents on 2-3 sites right behind or next to me with banging music til the wee hours comes to mind.....)

No trip planned for the Memorial holiday weekend. After this weekend and next going to first JMU to start Lauren's move out of dorm and Jessica's regional competitions up by Penn State (State College Campus), we will want a weekend of less.

The weekend afterwards Melissa and I are going on a small trip camping at Devil's Backbone BaseCamp leaving the girls at home with the dogs. This is a chance for us to have a weekend together before the end of the school year and our family Disney trip.

We will be having our anual repair and update the campers memorial weekend. Family all bring their campers and park in our backyard by my shop. Lots of good food. Some hiking at a near by preserve.

DD has state swimming for high school Thu through Sun. DS starts a week long leadership camp for Scouts on Sunday. So kid activity chasing, catching up on mowing, and some camper prep before our trip coming up soon.

Another person headed to the Cape! But since, as I remember from years in Massachusetts, that Memorial Day Weekend was traditionally when everyone headed to the Cape to open their summer cottages, restaurants opened, and everyone enjoys the first true taste of summer, we're getting out just before the actual weekend-leaving for the Cape in a few days (and already found the open ice cream shop to visit!)

Got my opening at Fisherman's Memorial! Made someone else very happy last night for Scusset (looked like a really nice site). I want to stay there for sure again someday, but maybe not a holiday weekend, and also maybe a few days longer.

Crazy to watch how quickly the sites come and go on Reserveamerica.... I got mine before it even hit the email notification just from refreshing in the early evening.... after I released my Scusset site, it was gone in 3-4 minutes.... the competition is cut throat up here for these popular places....

We love Fishermen's Memorial, haven't been for a few years, but love it there. That's like Hammonnassett, and now that they have added additional sites with electric, it is nearly impossible to get in. I suppose if you can go during the week and not the weekend, you would have a better chance of getting a site.

That would equate to a heckuva Scrabble score (what with all the bonuses for any letters, etc.).

We will be home that weekend and I miss those days when we would be out with the holiday crowd. Here is the south, school districts seek parental input on the school calendar (start, end, days off) and the HIGHEST priority always appear to be for school to END on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend.

Knowing this, we booked a campsite at Gulf State Park for a "woo hoo school is out let's go to the beach" trip for several years. Our youngest child finished high screwel in 2016 so there were about 8-10 years before that of reliably making the run down to the beach when school finished and enjoy the crowds and travel issues. Now they're all grown and flown the coop so we can travel off season.

But Memorial Day weekend was (and still is) one that puts a glimmer in my eye and memory of rolling out the popup about a week before hand to start the prep. Those were good days.

Where we use to live Cedar Creek, Tx, Memorial week-end is always Cedar Creek homecoming. Grumpy Aggie and Bill would always BBQ briskets, sausage & the families would bring the side dishes. I now live in Seguin, Tx close to our Son. So I am driving over to have Church services with my Church. I have been going to Cedar Creek Methodist for 46 years. Then after church I will go to the picnic & visit with everyone. I am now going to my Sons Methodist Church. Everyone have a very blessed & safe trip to Gulf Shore or wherever you may be traveling!

We will stay home. I'll take advantage of extra day to get camper and truck ready for the GSP trip. We'll grill at house, but no travels
