Little background:
Going March 10-16, staying at POFQ. Will be me and my 3 kids (10,8 and 5 at trip time) as well as my parents (Mom turning 60 on 3/17 and Stepdad will be 67). We are going to celebrate my Mom's birthday (I know we won't be there on her ACTUAL birthday but we will just celebrate a day or two early, we are close enough). She is a wonderful Mom and Grandma, a very young and active 60. She does NOTHING for herself. I want this trip to be super special.

She and Stepdad love dining out, good cooking, etc. Adventurous eaters, up for anything. I need a place that will be special, V&A would be right up their alley however I need a place we can ALL go, meaning the kids. She and Stepdad might take one night to do dinner alone but I want a birthday dinner we can all celebrate with her.

Where would you suggest? I thought CRT might be memorable but not sure it is worth 2 credits (we will be doing DDP) and I know she'd enjoy a glass of wine with dinner too.

Thanks for your opinions!

What about Boma's - the adventurous can sample all kinds of exotic dishes and the kids can find lots of kid friendly food.

Or Jiko's, a bit more "fine-dining" atmosphere than Boma. It offers great food, is family-friendly, yet it's not noisy. It's one of our favorites (and we're in your Mom's generation: :hippie: ).:goodvibes

Jiko, Artist Point, CA Grill..all would be well worth it, especially if they love dining out and great food.

Well, I want Terrace seating at the Rose and Crown for my birthday!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your time and opinions! I have been perusing menus and I think we are going to go for the California Grill for her birthday dinner. It will be a nice way to end a day at MK and I think she would really enjoy the menu! Our ADR day to call isn't till September so I might change my mind but I doubt it. It looks like a really nice place to have a special dinner!

One year we took my mom to the Brown Derby at MGM for her Birthday. She loved it. The food was good. We were able to have a glass of wine and just relax. It was a great place to celebrate her birthday:)
