Prices seem pretty comparable so I'm wondering where you would stay?
And Why would you stay there?
Best western Plus Park place inn and mini suites
OR
HoJO Anaheim
OR
Carousel inn and suites
OR
Tropicana Inn and suites

The most important things in a place to stay is
Safe
Clean
Good Value
Proximity to DLR

Less important thing:
Free breakfast

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!

TIA!!!! Im a WDW vet that hasn't been to DLR in 17 years and I was a kid then(and it was before DCA was around!) so it's been awhile so I need all the help I can get!!!

I've stayed at three of those 4 hotels. I think they're all fine when it comes to your "safe" and "clean" categories. Since proximity is one of your important qualifiers, the BWPPI is the closest - literally right across the street from the crosswalk that leads to the entrance of DL. But the Carousel and Tropicana are very close as well. HoJo is a great place and it's about 5-7 more minutes walking distance, but if it's about the same price as the others and breakfast is not important to you, it is an awesome value - it has the interior corridors (more of a hotel than a motel feel) and that may make you feel safer.

We have stayed at the Hojo 3 times but only in the kid suites - so I can't comment on the other room categories. We love the kid suites as there is so much extra room with bunks for the kids, two rooms, two tvs and two bathrooms. It is very clean. It is not far from the crosswalk - it takes us like 5 minutes tops to get to the crosswalk. If you have very small kids then the walk might be longer. We had looked at staying at the other hotels you mentioned but TripAdvisor was kindest to HOJO our first time around. Tripadvisor is a great site - as it has so many more opinions than just those here - they rank your hotels as follows: HOJO #11, Best Western #17, Tropicana #41 and Carousel #44 of all hotels in Anaheim. I know I used it a lot when trying to decide where to stay.

Have fun shopping around!!

All of these hotels are pretty comparable when it comes to being safe, clean and a good value. Park Place Inn is the closest and the only one with a free breakfast (I believe). Tropicana and Carousel Inn are also very close and HoJo is the furthest away. Walking another 5-7 minutes usually isn't a big deal, but your feet might thank you for staying at one of the closer hotels, at the end of the night. :) Have a great trip!

We've stayed at Camelot Inn (sister property of Tropicana, usually have the same prices) and love it! It has become our go-to hotel. This hotel is safe, clean, and a good value. I would assume, being the sister property, that Tropicana would be the same. You can't beat the price for being right across the street.

Seems like Hojo and BWI are the two top! I was kinda feeling that way in my own research as well! Now I am torn! I like the idea of saving money on breakfast and being so close with BWI but I like the interior hallways and how highly rated HoJo is! Hmmmmmmmm maybe I should make my DH decide! Im really torn!

Thank you so much for looking this up for me! I really appreciate it!!!!!

How many of you are there? How old? Do you care about a pool?

The BWPPI is my go-to when I'm travelling with my family, because it's so close and has breakfast.
That said, if were were going in spring or summer, I'd be tempted to HoJo it because of the kids water park. I know my DD would love it.

We've stayed at Tropicana, and thought the room was a bit on the small side. We really like the minisuite (2 queen with a sofabed) at the BWPPI for a bit more room to move around.

I'd not just go by the rating numbers though, reading some of the reviews or at least a few of the recent ones can make a big difference. I also find the photos guests take and post to TripAdvisor must more accurate to the pictures provided by the actual hotel - as they are often very ideal type pictures which never translate into reality.

We like the Tropicana! Nice rooms and easy walk to the parks.

Any time I see the HoJo pop up in a thread, I have to post that the one time I stayed there, it was awful. That was in 2008 though, so take it with a grain of salt. I did not feel like it was clean and the walls let every bit of noise through. All night I could hear every little noise in the hallway and all of the highway noise.

I have had experiences where it was one night and it stuck with me - it is hard to see past those things once you go through them - I have read on TripAdvisor though of the same thing happening to people who have paid a whole pile of money to stay on site and have an awful experience. At least with off site hotels people should not have unrealistically high expectations.

We stayed there three years in a row (2012, 2013 and 2014) and although we only ever stayed in the kids suites we were quite surprised at how clean they were kept. I think many of their rooms have been upgraded at least somewhat since 2008 but not sure of all room categories. We had friends who stayed there in 2013 who got their room through points and got one of the cheapest category rooms and they were not as happy with the place as we were in the kids suites - so I guess it likely does depend on the type of room you select.

Hopefully all your stays in the area since have been positive ones.

Of the 4 you listed I've stayed at BWPPI and Hojos. Hojos is our favorite! The beds are super comfy. Keurig coffee makers in the rooms. Love that they have interior corridors so my room door doesnt open up to the parking lot. Parking is free and plentiful. My kids love the kiddie pool area. We usually stay in the cheaper rooms...the double/double's in the two story buildings. Love these rooms and we always request 1st floor since there are no elevators in these buildings. Never had a problem with highway noise in these rooms though if you're room faces the kiddie pool you will hear that noise. We've also stayed in the Premium view rooms and it is super nice being able to watch the fireworks from our room but aside from that I dont think the rooms are any nicer than the cheaper ones. Theres great counter space to put your luggage up on which I like too. Saves room. Flat screen TVs mounted on the walls also saves room I think. Love having Mimi's right across the street. I usually buy some muffins to have in our room. It takes my family about 8 minutes, with kids, to walk to Disneyland for Hojos.

We are currently looking into this for a possible June Trip. We've stayed at HoJo before but I hated the walk since I did it alone late one night and with just the kids when they were little a couple of times and didn't feel very safe and the room didn't really fit us well then so it sure wouldn't work now.

The biggest issue is we need space and a king bed for my husband and I and then 2 separate beds for an older teen and a 20 year old - sleeper sofa type things are out. Plus we need 2 bathrooms.

It'll be interesting what we decide to do.......

Check out the Camelot Inn and Suites. You can get 2 rooms with a door in between that they will unlock to make into adjoining rooms, but you have to request it. We've done this twice now and it has worked out perfectly - tons of space, 4 queen beds, 2 bathrooms, 2 sinks, 2 mini fridges, 2 microwaves, 2 closets, 2 tvs, etc. The Camelot is fairly priced as well, so it isn't as expensive to get two rooms. This hotel is a lot closer to Disneyland than HoJo, and it seems like there are always people out and walking. We've never felt unsafe walking back to that hotel late at night.

They also have a Family Suite that has a king bed in one room and 2 queens in the other, but that one only has one bathroom.
