Where would you stay?

Me and my boyfriend will be going to Disney and we can't figure out where to stay. We will need a hotel for 2 nights, we want something nice but not expensive (under 100 a night), pool, lounge, close to restaurants and of course Disney is a must. Being close to Disney, having a lounge and close to restaurants is a must.

I was told that staying at a Disney resort probably wouldn't be worth paying the extra money so if I could find something nice for less then what I would pay for the value resorts it would be great.

Ok. Let me start off with Disney IS TOTALLY worth the money. It has that magic nothing else can replace. Ok, let's get to the facts. A value ranges anywhere from 70-110, depending when you are staying. If you want to splurge a little, a moderate is around 150. Hope I helped!

You can look around, perhaps find nice deals in the area at that rate but those will mostly be at places like a Courtyard. Perhaps even someplace like the Gaylord (though it is a big convention hotel) or check AllEars or Mousesavers for any deals.

My other suggestion is to try Priceline, get more "nice" for the money. Check winning bids (biddingfortravel, etc) and you will see wins at the Gaylord, Hilton DTD, Hyatt and Omni. Just max your Resort level bid to say $70, so that even with fees, parking you may come out in your budget. FWIW.

you can stay at the value resorts generally for less than $100 - so when are you going?

I don't think the Value resorts have lounges, though---POP's just got converted to package pickup, if I recall, and the All-Stars never had them.

A moderate, even in Value season, is a much larger chunk of change.

Based on what the OP is looking for, I'd look to something in the Downtown Disney area.

I love the Royal Plaza - B&BW toiletries, and very large rooms. We stay there frequently, and they also have fireworks view rooms!
