Hi All - My daughter and future son-in-law want to spend there honeymoon in Disney. They are getting married in November of 2009. Which resort would you choose?:bride:

Which park would they like the best then stay near that one.

GF is beauitful and the wedding chapel is near here.if they like mk they can view the fireworks from here.

BW and BC are also very nice and if lucky get a room to view again firworks to view.

Of course the most expensive hotels are the nicest for a honeymoon.

Congrats to your DD. :goodvibes When in November? If it is towards the latter half I'd say WL because it is so warm, homey and cozy.

I would say Poly if they're going deluxe. Maybe because it's one of the original hotels, it just seems the most Disney!

Seeing it's their honeymoon, I think they're are thinking deluxe.

I kinda figured it would be, but didn't want to assume incase it couldn't be afforded. ;) I would say hands down Grand Floridian. OR the Poly, I guess it depends on the couples tastes. I think between these two your covering your bases.

Definitely Poly. My daughter & son-in-law spent their November honeymoon there 3 years ago. They absolutely cherish those memories. :bride:

I think WL one of the JR Suites with the spa tub.

We are going to Disney on our honeymoon in October 2008 and chose to stay at the Polynesian because we wanted deluxe, on the monorail and wanted a tropical feeling. I can't wait!

My DH and I spent our hoenymoon (Dec. '06) in a Wilderness Lodge honeymoon suite and it was wonderful. Our room faced the MK so we could see the top of the castle and watched the fireworks from our balcony. The tub in the suite is a jacuzzi tub and was absolutly perfect after a long day in the parks, it is big enough for two (not talking about anything naughty we would sit facing each other and read while we soaked in the hot water) . The Lodge itself has a fantastic atmosphere that was really comfortable and relaxing. One night there were some school kids sing carols in front of the Christmas tree,:santa: we got some hot chocolate from the concierge lounge and just sat listening to the carols and soaking in the atmosphere. We never had a transportation problem the whole time (9 days) and everyone was so friendly and we got a lot of "congratulations" and some special treats in our room.
Needless to say I highly recomend the WL for a honeymoon.

First, Congratulations to your daughter and future son-in-law. :goodvibes
Then add another vote for the Grand Floridian!

Grand Floridian! But if they don't mind a lot of kids the Poly is a great choice too!

Add another vote for Grand Floridian. More honeymooners and less kiddies.

We stayed in the Garden Suites at the BWI in January. They were beautiful!

While they are more expensive than a standard room, the suites come with concierge services -- including access to the lounge and preplanning help -- and don't have the same price tag as a larger suite or the bigger villas. They look like cottages. Each is a two-story suite with a king bed and bathroom on the second floor (including a huge tub), and a living room, wetbar, and half bath on the first floor. Most have a private garden with white picket fence and a porch area with chairs. (Three of the rooms have balconies off the second floor instead of a garden, but they do have a little porch area. Still very nice.) Our rooms looked out onto the rose gardens and quiet pool. Very romantic and private.

We loved everything about the rooms, and the Boardwalk is a great place to be with access to World Showcase and the various restaurants and clubs in that area for nice dinners. On a trip without kids, it may be more convenient to be near Epcot and the Studios. Just a thought.

At first I thought Poly of GF, but to give you something different to think about. What about a 1 bedroom unit at a DVC, comes with whirlpool and lots of room for 2. Maybe at the AKL with the new units and views of giraffes and other animals while you eat on the balcony for breakfast. I know that 4 years ago we did AKL and I loved the balcony breakfasts, DW did too, when she rolled out of bed and saw the animals she made sure to get up much earlier.;)

Thank you all for your ideas. She was thinking about the Contemporary but the GF sound better. I let her know what you all said. :)

My #1 choice would be the Grand Floridian, followed by the Polynesian, Boardwalk Villas, and Boardwalk Inn. :)
