Looking at late August 2019 for a first land/sea trip with myself, dh, and daughters who will be turning 7 on trip. So where would you stay if.....

  • the trip was for 2 or 5 nights(still have not settled on cruise length 4 or 7)
  • We wanted a great pool
  • We wanted great restaurants for a sit down dinner.
  • If we plan on going to mnsshp
  • Day at HS
  • Longer trip we will do another Mk and epcot Only exceptions is no poly stayed last year and would love to try something new not sure why! And no GF. P!ease tell me why you picked the resort. Thanks so much!!!!!

YC, BC, or Boardwalk.

YC and BC get the most attention for "great pool"--but the Boardwalk Inn pool is really great too (as long as you are ok with Clowns!) I personally prefer the theme of BWI over YC or BC.

There are many nice table service options--those 3 resorts are within walking distance, as are Swan, Dolphin, and all of the World Showcase in Epcot.

I think I'd do either Yacht or Beach. You have the great pool there, quick access to all the restaurants in Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, and EPCOT WS, and quick access to DHS.

As has been suggested above, I’d do Yacht or Beach Club. I’d recommend checking out photos of both and choosing the one that fits your personal style best.

Wow all BC and YC. How would transportation be coming back late after mnsshp? We went into BW it was nice but dang that clown is creepy and a no go for us!

No. Not really. You can see the high fireworks from the bridge between the Boardwalk and the YC/BC and from some rooms. But Illuminations is way more than high fireworks. It is fire, lights, lasers, water, music on the Lagoon in World Showcase.

Since you've eliminated Poly, GF and BWI, in terms of staying close to the parks you want to visit, you've really limited your choices.

If you do the 2-night trip with MNSSHP and DHS, I would consider CR or WL. You will be in very close proximity to MK, making a late night at MNSSHP very easy. You will have to sacrifice "great pool" though as neither of those resorts fit that bill. WL's pool area gets a slight edge if your DD's are 48" tall or less as they can use the new splash pad area there, otherwise the CR and WL pools aren't great. In terms of overall resorts, WL wins, IMHO in terms of overall atmosphere. And the boat to MK is very nice. We stayed at WL twice last year and attended both MNSSHP and MVMCP while staying there and getting the boat back after the parties was very easy. If you want the absolute easiest transportation after the party, book CR and simply walk back to your resort. Both resorts have fantastic restaurants.

If you do 5 nights at WDW and are going to add EP onto your touring plan, I would put BC on your list of resorts to consider along with CR and WL as it will give you a far better pool, plus walking and boating distance to both EP and DHS. Yes, getting back from MNSSHP isn't as convenient and will make for a later night.

This was super helpful i forgot about CR! So hard for me to pick even though I know whatever we choose will be great! Our girls loved being on the monorail so I'm hoping the great Pool or theming at WL will make up for it. I will be doing some research today as we are snowed in!

Another vote for BC/YC. It has the best pool, lots of dining options in the area, and you can walk/boat to HS.

Beach Club hands down. The pool is amazing. My kids stayed in the pool some days while we hit the parks. They loved it that much.

We end up spending as much or more time at the pool than the parks at BC! DD is asking to leave the park and go swim usually no later than 11AM on park days. And we have a pool at home so it's not like she never gets to swim. That pool is fantastic.

My son stayed in the pool for two entire days. Mostly playing volleyball with other teens in the pool. I couldn’t get him out!! DD also stayed in the pool doing her own thing. They loved it!!

We’re doing BWV next trip. I hope the slide lives up to the hype!! It’s just myself and DD12. I plan on using the slide too.

The slide looks really fun! However we took a walk over there last time we were at BC and DD was like no way! She's heard too many creepy clown rumors at school it freaks her out unfortunately.
