Where would you stay at Christmas?

It's about that time for 7 month Christmas reservations.
Where would you stay at Christmas if all resorts were available to choose from?

I am personally debating over BLT or WL.
BLT would have the convenience of walking to MK during a crowded time.
WL would have the beautiful decorations.

To be honest, at this point and time, anywhere you can get a room. Many people travel to WDW at Christmas and the rooms go quickly. I would just see what is available and waitlist if where you want to stay is not available.

I had to book AKV and BLT at the 11 month window. You may get lucky and get what you want.

I heard that WL is beautiful at Christmas. Will have to take the boat over to take a look.

Surprisingly when I called today, everywhere was open for the 7 month window for the week before Christmas to the day after Christmas. I didn't expect that at all.

Wow that is amazing! I would have agreed with the pp and said that where ever you can get a reservation is where you would want to be. I hope that availability stays the same when you call to switch out. I cannot imagine all the rooms would book up so hopefully you should have a good shot at getting what you want. Here is some pixie dust :wizard: Let us know how it goes.

To me WL represents a perfect Christmas resort. The roaring fireplace and decor, perfect. If I could I'd go with it. However, if the short walk to MK is more important then I'd stay there. It is really nice just to walk to MK, especially after leaving the park after the fireworks and the ferry and bus lines are long.

I called yesterday and booked a two bedroom at BWV for the week before Xmas with no wait list. I didn't even ask about other resorts though.

It's been a strange ( lucky ) year for me though. Got BCV at 7 months for F&W too..

I'll have to consider it a lucky year as well! We got BCV at 7 months at F&W also. :yay:

Well, we weren't so lucky. My home resort is BLT and I am happy about that, but we wanted to try VWL for Christmas since I heard it was so nice. Our dates are Dec. 18 to 22 and there is nothing available there for those dates in a studio or 1-bdrm. I hope you have better luck.

We stayed at the BWV last Christmas. I think it is the second most beautifully decorated resort after VWL. The lobby has not only the chocolate Mickey House but there are beautiful garlands and trees throughout the lobby.
Another great perk of BWV is the quick walk to both Epcot and HS, both holiday favorites!!! Enjoy!

We just had this same decision to make. I kind of had a list in mind of what I hoped would be available. Villas at wilderness lodge was my first choice as we have never stayed there and I got it for December 17-December 20th!!:cheer2: We have a 2 bedroom. My second choice would have been boardwalk with animal kingdom third. BLT is our home resort but with only one park day on this trip, I didn't want to use as many points. We are planning to spend one day visiting the other resorts to see the decorations!

We have had a 1 BR Lake View reserved at BLT since the 11 month mark. We toyed with seeing if we could switch to VWL at the 7 month mark (2 days ago) but ultimately decided to stay put. We really like the idea of being able to see Wishes from TOTWL, and VWL is only a boat ride away if we want to see the holiday decorations.

We own at both VWL and BWV and those are the resorts we stay at in December. They are each convenient for different things...the monorail is just a boatride away from VWL and the Boardwalk resorts and Epcot/DHS are so convenient from BWV. It's a beautiful time to be at Disney, and I would stay anywhere at all as long as I could be at Disney in December!

Bobbi:thumbsup2

Well I lucked out. I decided to add a day to my trip. So we leave on Christmas Eve. Was able to get a studio SV at AKV. So 2 nights at AKV and then 3 nights at BLT. Then Disney Dream cruise 12/29- 1/3.:yay:

Sweet! So glad you were able to add a day, the trips sounds great! Enjoy:thumbsup2

I think WLV are by far the best decorated. While the closeness of BLT is great, WLV is only a little bit farther by boat. I also like the decorations at BWV and BCV, and of course Epcot is very nice for the holidays too. Those would be my top three.

That sounds like the perfect vacation!!

This is a little off topic...sorry, but just wanted to mention other options I've experienced at Christmas time. The Disney Magic was beautiful when we took the holiday cruise at Christmas in 2006! They had many trees in the lobbies and vestibule areas...they even had a huge (REAL) gingerbread house outside of one of the dining rooms...very pretty and very festive. Have been to OKW, the Beach/Yacht Club (hotel part), and at the Grand Floridian at Christmas. All were very, very nicely decorated, but the Grand Floridian was the absolute best, bar none...but that's not a DVC resort...not yet anyway! ;) I'm sure you'll love it no matter where you go...nobody does Christmas better than Disney! :worship:

I tried to switch out two days at BWV the second week of Dec. to BLT last week and there were not two days available in 1 BR standard or lake view at either end of our trip. :sad2:Waitlisted for a week and then removed the waitlist b/c we booked at BLT for our next trip in April '12 instead.
