I really don't want to pay the preferred rate, but I don't want to be a million miles away from everything either. I was going to go for POFQ but I think the kids would prefer the tropical feel of CBR..... what section would suit our needs best? Grumpy DH (36), myself (37), dd (15) and ds (8).

I would avoid Trinidad South. We were in building 36 when we stayed there, and it was a long walk to get to the food court and the main pool. When I would do a mug run, I would walk to the food court, and then hop on a bus back to the Trinidad South bus stop--most buses stopped there on their route to any park, but it's best to ask just in case.

I was in building 22 in Martinique last year, and it was maybe a five minute walk to the bus stop and the food court.

We stayed at CBR last May. DH, DD's(3&4) and myself. We were in Trinidad south as well and it was far for us to the main pool and dining. We liked our room but found the resort to be too spread out. The resort is one of the largest and because of that they even have an internal bus system to get you from spot to spot in the resort. We had paid the extra for a water view. I was thinking this would put us close to the action. Wrong. My suggestion is you ask to be close to the food and main pool. Don't get me wrong we enjoyed our stay and would stay again but would be much more specific on where we would want to stay.

Martinique and Trinidad North are the preferred locations. I would request Jamaica. You are just across the lake from Old Port Royale and the main pool.

You will love CBR.

The resort is spread out but if you don't mind walking and are relatively active (like the morning jogger type of person) the walks not bad at all. (At least not in my opinion and I've stayed clear on the opposite side of the lake from the food court. Regardless of wherever you stay there the scenery is simply BEAUTIFUL while walking. :)

I have stayed in Jamica (building # 45).
It is a great location.
It is only a short walk over the bridge to get to Port Royale.

It is colored pale yellow and tropical blue- very soothing.
We love CBR.

I agree with RJ Cumpata - we also stayed in Jamaica 45 in December. It is right across from the end of the bridge to Old Port Royale and is very handy to everything. We found this location to be very quiet and peaceful, with the added benefit of being able to see Illuminations and Wishes fireworks from the outside walkway.

We had just a short walk over a beautiful bridge to OPR. Jamaica's gardens and building color (a pretty yellow) were outstanding and very relaxing.

I would actually vote for Aruba or Jamaica. From these two villages, waling over the bridge it takes about 5-10 minutes to get to OPR and it's a really nice walk. I would avoid Trinidad South and Barbados. Those can be long walks indeed.

Hope this helps!
