Where would you live?

We all have heard there are good values for home buyers in FL now. Here is my question.

If you were to buy a vacation condo/townhome on a FL beach with a reasonable drive to Orlando, where would it be?

The proposed bullet train from Tampa to Orlando makes the Clearwater area very attractive. My family and I would love to be a 30 minute ride from the parks.

I'd love to find a new development in a safe, family-friendly area. A good value due to the current housing market would be a bonus! Thanks.

Where would I live? Satellite Beach. Cozy, non-commercial, Atlantic Ocean. Near enough to the chaos.

If money wasn't an object I would go with one of the gulf beaches between Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach. I would definitely go with the gulf over the Atlantic. I lived in Clearwater (on the bay side, not the gulf) and loved the area.

To be honest though I would rather live closer to the city instead of by the beach and would get a winter home in the Hyde Park area of Tampa. It is close to the water and a really cool area to live. If you want to walk to a beach everyday though it would be out.
