We have decided to do a Disney Birthday Trip for my youngest DS (7...will be 8) in February. My older DS is 9. They love character meals (we have done CP for breakfast and LTT for dinner...both excellent).

My question is: Where would you go for a special birthday meal?

We took our Godson to Chef Mickey's for his birthday. ( he wasn't interested in CRT) What a great experience! The announcement was made about his birthday, they played a song and had the whole restaurant swing their napkins in his honor. The characters were especially playful with him and they gave him a special placemat and birthday button,as well as a decorated cupcake. It is still a great memory for all of us.

We are not very early risers so we usually grab a quick breakfast and head to the parks for opening. We have done breakfast at CRT, it's fun to eat with the princesses but the food was so-so. I think I feel that way because the characters came to our table just as our food was served so after visiting with them and taking photos the food was cold and I didn't have the heart to return a practically full plate for fresh food. Crystal Place was good but unless you go VERY early there can be a long wait even with a p.s. We have never done breakfast at Chef Mickey's but dinner is a Disney tradition for us. I know that wasn't one of the options but that would be my first choice.

Thanks Epcotgal:
I had not thought about dinner at CM. That's why I left the last option open...I'm sure I'm missing some great choices ;)
My little guy is a big breakfast eater, but we also usually grab a quick breakfast and it's one meal we can keep the $$ down on! I will run this idea by 'the guys'.

Keep those suggestions coming! These boards have made my last two trips great :D

Ask your ds what his favorite place to eat is and then go there.
After all it is his birthday! :)

Chef Mickey's seems like a great place to go for birthday's. Since you didn't list it as a place you've been it might be nice to try it.

I voted for my own choice--Dinner at Chef Mickey's. Very festive & I bet both DS's would love it! Although I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices you listed. Also, another character breakfast that is a lot of fun is Donald's Breakfastosaurus at Animal Kingdom. Lots of fun & good characters.

 Have a Great Trip:wave:
