 Ok so we will be arriving in WDW in time for lunch. We have the DDP and I have reservations for all of my dinners and breakfasts for the week. Where should our first lunch be? We plan on going into the MK however- :confused3 we could go to Epcot for lunch and then take the monorail over to MK. Any ideas for our first lunch?

Oh BTW we leave in 30 days!!!!!!princess:pirate::cool2::hippie:

If you are looking to do CS, in MK i suggest Cosmic Rays or Casey's. Love them both!!! Epcot, I've don't Sunshine Season, Electric Umbrella, Lotus Blossom Cafe, and Liberty Inn. They are all pretty good. Looking to do Kringla Bakeri because I've heard nothing but great reviews about it! And if you are on the DDP, you can get school bread as you dessert (or at least that's what I've heard!).

I would just stay in MK for lunch. Yes, you can run from one place to the other but getting to EPCOT then getting TO a location will take at least half an hour or more til you get food. Then it will take you over an hour to get from EPCOT to MK (you have to transfer monorails because both parks aren't on the same line).

I honestly would recommend eating at your resort. Check in and if your room is ready, get freshened up and settled in a little and grab quick service there before you run off to MK.
Which resort are you staying at?

Depends on what you're in the mood for I suppose, but my first thought was the Liberty Tree Tavern. We've had luck there just walking in and getting a table (after waiting, that is). Fun place to start off the trip I'd say! Good luck with whatever you choose!

If you want to eat at a TS for your first lunch, I agree with this choice! For CS, Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbor or Casey's would be fun places to eat at.

When we stayed at the Poly, we had our arrival lunch at Kona Cafe. It was a very nice, quiet meal before diving into the crowds at MK. Then you have options galore to get over to MK (monorail, launch, walk over to TTC and take the Ferry).

Where are you staying? We often fly in as early as possible and find that by the time we disembark the plane, take the Magical Express, check in to our hotel and drop our carry-ons with bell services, I'm not willing to venture very far beyond our own hotel and prefer to have lunch right away.

If you're more reasonable than me, you might be able to wait a bit, however.

I do agree with you that the best way to start a Disney World vacation is with a visit to the Magic Kingdom. That is always our plan for the first day as well. I'm not crazy about any of the Magic Kingdom's sit-down restaurants, but love the Grand Floridian Café's lunch. That's only a quick Monorail ride away. If you just want something quick, I'd recommend grabbing something from Columbia Harbor House.

We like to monorail over to the Comtemporary for the Wave- the reuben is so good!

We usually always arrive at our hotel the same time on our Disney trips - sometime around 11:30 in the morning. We are always starving and can't wait to grab some lunch before heading to the park!
We like to eat somewhere at the hotel, or close to it just because we are so hungry. It sounds like maybe you are staying in the Epcot resort area since you suggested maybe having lunch in Epcot before taking the monorail over. If you aren't at an Epcot resort area, I wouldn't do this. But if you are at an Epcot resort area, I do think it's an option. We are planning on going to Via Napoli for our first day lunch. It will only be a 15 minute walk from our hotel (YC) :)
Of course, I think it's easiest just to eat at the hotel. If you are in Epcot resort area, Beaches and Cream and Captain's Grill would be good choices, or you could eat at Swan/Dolphin area (if not on DDP). This way you will be nice and full before heading to MK.
OR if you want to eat at MK, try Columbia Harbor House (CS) or the Plaza (TS). If you think you want to eat at a monorail resort, I'd recommend GF Cafe for TS or Gaspirella's Grill (CS).

We are staying at the Boardwalk Villias:cool1: We have never been to Liberty Square so that sounds interesting. :hippie:

The Plaza at MK is good for sandwiches and burgers if you want something a little lighter and still enjoy a TS. Maybe try a BW area restaurant. Big River, ESPN and Capts Grille are all good.

If you don't mind walking over to Epcot for lunch and taking monorail, I highly recommend Sunshine Seasons. IMHO this is the best CS on property. Tasty food, and an absolutely amazing variety!
Ginger Mongolian Beef, Cashew Chicken, Rotisserie Chicken, Pork Chop, Oak Fired fish (used to be salmon!).... Yummy! Now I'm hungry :thumbsup2

If you're staying at the Boardwalk Villas and if you have park hoppers, I'd go through the back entrance to Epcot and stop at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop for Fish & Chips. It is right on your way to the monorail, and there is a seating area there with a GORGEOUS view of the World Showcase Lagoon...what a great way to begin your vacation! After lunch, you can just continue your walk through Future World and pick up the monorail to the MK.
