Where would you eat before MVMCP?

We have tickets to MVMCP on 12/2 during our stay. The rest of that day is scheduled in out itinerary as a 'slow day', in which we don't plan on going to any parks until MK for the party. We originally had reservations to Whispering Canyon Cafe (we're staying at SSR, not WL) for dinner at 4PM, but we've just agreed to change it to something else (we're doing Hoop-de-doo review a day later and felt it might be a little too similar in food/experience). Our first pick was Ohana, so that we could ride the monorail over immediately after right into MVMCP, but, though I keep telling them we don't have to be IN the park the exact moment the party starts, my family is insistent upon being in MK before 7PM. Since Ohana dinner starts at 5, they ruled that out due to time constraints.

There's not much time left to book ADRs, so Ohana probably would have been out of the question anyway. We can certainly book a late lunch of an early dinner somewhere in MK itself before the party, or even perhaps something at DTD. What would you suggest?

Our party is 3 adults, btw. :rolleyes1

We are going the same day as you and I just did an adr for 3 people at The Plaza Restraunt in MK, its not fancy but its not counter service. We have gone to the MVMCP for the last 2 years and always do CP Buffet but its sold out, so since you can get into the park at 4 pm we got a ADR for 4:40, then we will make our way towards tommorrowland for the lst Twas the Night Before Christmas show.

What worked really well for us last year was to have a late lunch (2:45 last seating) at the Turf Club @ SSR. It was a great meal, and then we headed over to MK. We did the monorail loop to see decorations at the GF and walked into MK around 5:45pm.

We are doing a late breakfast and a late lunch on our MVMCP day. We have and ADR for LTT at 4pm. We are going to hang out at the resort and take it easy until that time.

We're doing 1900 Park Fare at 4:50 - the best I could get, everything else booked. We did want to eat there anyway, but am wondering with eating at that time, what time we should estimate arriving at MK?

I bet you get to the MK at 7pm. By the time you eat and visit with all the characters. Hit the Bathroom and hop on the monarail.
Have a great time

We're doing CRT at 4:00 PM on 11/21. Anyone know how long I should expect to spend at CRT for dinner? 2 hours from ADR? so 6:00 ?

We are eating at GFC at 12:45 and we plan on checking out GF, then going to the Poly and checking it out, then to the Contempary and check it out before we head over to MK. The kids are working on getting all the transportation cards. They get a few on every trip.

We have ADR for Tony's at 4:30 the day we are attending MVMCP. I've been toying with the idea of cancelling them though and just do CS. I didn't know if we wanted a heavy dinner or maybe something light and then grab snacks through out the night.

We ate at LTT last year, Dec. 21 (it was the last party of the year)....5pm ADR. It was perfect!:thumbsup2

What about Kona? You could have an early dinner and then hop the monorail right over to MK? Food is great and it usually isn't a lengthy dining experience.

Last year we ate at Kona @ 5:45. This year we have ressies at 1900 Park fair for 4:30 and I hope to make it to MK in time 5;45 to see the castle lighting

We have 5:00 for 1900 Park Fare on 12/2. I figure we really don't have to worry about the characters since DD and her bestfriend are 15. Have a quick dinner then out the door and time to PARTAY!!!!!! Love the christmas party and can't wait to go!!! OMG I am so excited!!!

I have reservations at California Grill before I got to MVMCP on 12/4. I got them for the first seating, figuring we'll be a little late for the party, but will hopefully get to see Wishes from the restaurant before going in. It sounded like a magical way to start the evening to me. :goodvibes

We ate at Crystal Palace before the Pirate & Princess party in May and it worked out well for us. I'd go there again before a party. I'd also consider Kona. You have a better chance of getting into Kona than Ohana I think.
