We have OKW (200 with June UY) and HHI (75 with Aug UY) points already. Was wanting to add on (50-100) at HHI and found a contract with our UY but it fell through. Thinking about adding 50 points direct...or we could wait for another small contract with our UY to pop up or we could look at BWV (our fave resort) or AKV (points go far there). DH prefers the most points for our money (resale at HHI) and I prefer location (BWV). WWYD? TIA!

I would go with what my DH wanted before some strangers here. ;)

We just added on a small 50 pt contract direct. Always wanted BWV points so that's what we went with. Finally we're able to make our own ressie at BWV for Food & Wine!

;) I am the money cost of things person in our marriage and DH is the location guy....which is why we purchased points at AKV. He loves the animals and location and I am just happy to be a member. AKV is perfect for us and we love it there.

For this, since you know what is available---I would have to do 50 for location and 50 for pricing :thumbsup2 Everyone is happy.:stir:

Well, he wants a lot of HHI points (150 points via resale), but says we don't have the cash for that right now. So.....not sure what his plan is:confused3

I would just buy 50 points direct...today...if it were up to me. I almost did it right before Xmas when I was on the phone with the DVC lady. I should have just went for it ;)

This is why I was thinking AKV...might be a way to please us both. I think, though, it is still priced too much/point for DH. He is really stuck on that $48-55/point that HHI resale is going for.

I think we'll wait it out and see what comes up...I guess there's no rush.

Went with HH direct...small contract with our UY. Had a heck of a time finding the perfect resale. How long from when you speak to DVC guide (and buy the add on) until the points show up online (member website)? Using our Disney CC to pay...if that makes a difference.

Congratulation on your add on!
My guess would be in a few days...but you can book with them today!

In my experience it was the next day I could book online using my new points...but that may of been due to a late in the day purchase

I bought at 6:30 last night and she didn't know for certain if there were enough points available (said there were 60 that morning and I was buying 55, so if anyone else had bought yesterday, prior to me, than I would go on wait list for points) . She said if the points were still available, that they would be in my account today sometime. They still aren't there (I even called MS just a bit ago and nothing), nor are there any charges on my CC...:(. I'll keep hoping...and checking my CC account and online DVC account and maybe later this evening.....

We just added on with more SSR points because of the cost and lower maintenance fees. Our Vero points fees are awful. Also, people will tell you to buy where you want to be, but that depends on the time of year you go. So if you usually go in a busy season, then definitely buy where you want to be. Otherwise, if you're flexible, go for the low maintenance fees and just take what you can get. We've always gotten the resort we've wanted in the low seasons.

Boardwalk. It sells in the mid 50's per point, standard rooms are as cheap as they come, and you cant beat the location!

You get the resort you want, and your husband can feel good about getting great value for the money!

Still no points or charges on my CC. Guess it's not happening. Will call today and get off the wait list (the guide said if there were not 55+ points in inventory that I would go on the wait list...but the beauty of direct is immediate use of points, so we don't want to be on wait list). I wish she would have called me yesterday to let me know there were no points. I give up on adding points as this is our second strike out (a few weeks ago we found the perfect resale contract...signed the papers...paid the deposit...thought it was sent to ROFR...owner cancelled the contract)...it's not meant to be right now.:sad1:
