we're staying at the disney all-star movies resort. and of course we'll be taking the disney bus to the parks.........but what i was wondering is where does the bus actually take you? the only way to get to the parks is by monorail or ferry boat, right? so does the bus drop you off at the place to buy tickets? if so and we already have our tickets, do we have to wait in line (behind those buying their tickets) or can we go on thru and get on the monorail/ferryboat?

the bus will drop you off at the bus stops right outside the gate for each park. Its not a long walk at all....

WDW transportation will take you very close to the park entrance at all four parks. You won't need to take the monorail or ferry at the MK.

If you have your tickets, just go right to the turnstile and enter, or if you get there before the park opens, just wait for them to let you in.

Good luck!

Bob

If you're going to MK, Epcot, MGM or DAK, you'll be dropped near the front gates.

If you already have your tickets, simply by-pass the ticket booths and head towards the turnstiles.

You can get to all parks by bus, MK and Epcot by bus, boat, or monorail. Only some resorts have boats and monorail. Buses drop you off really close to the front gates. You'll go through security...all bags will be checked. If you already have your tickets you then head straight over to the turnstiles and in you go. It's really easy...no need to worry about getting lost or waiting in extra lines.

There is no ferry or monorail after the bus drops you off at the parks. But if you want to park hop and go from MK to Epcot you can hop on the monorail or if you are at MK or Epcot and want to go over to the Contempory to Chef Mickey's you can hop on the monorail.

the bus from resorts takes you directly to the gates of MK, bypassing the TTC.

Buses from the Disney resorts do NOT stop at the TTC. They drop you off directly at the main entrance of the Magic Kingdom. It is not possible to get closer to the main entrance of the MK any other way. If you drive or take a shuttle bus from an off-site resort you will be at the TTC and either take the monorail or boat over to the MK.

If you now get dropped of at the gate of MK, that is a change from last year, last time we stayed on site (April '04), we were dropped off at TTC. I know that for sure, because we had to exchange our Florida resident vouchers for actual tickets at the TTC.

We went in November 03, and many times in 04 and we've always been dropped off at MK main gate.

We've stayed onsite at least 4 or 5 times in the past couple of years and the buses always dropped us off at the gate.

Hi,
Here is a map of WDW that you can look at.
Notice the bus transportation between the MK and the
CR, this is where you get dropped off to go to the MK.
You do not have to go to the TTC, you can if you want to
but you do not have to.
If you are at your disney resort and are waiting at a bus stop
and a bus comes up that says MK then you will be dropped off
at the bus stop at MK that is between MK and CR.
If you get on a bus at the bus stop that says TTC then that is
where you will go.

I think I have to correct an earlier post by WDSearcher...doesn't the bus take you right from the resort to the gate of the MK?
Yup ... I was thinking parking. Sorry!

Aiden'smom, I'm not trying to be difficult, but we have always been dropped off at the main gate from a WDW resort. As far as I know, only off-site hotel buses drop you off at the TTC.

WDSearcher, I wish I had a nickel for every time I've thought one thing and typed another!!

There was a time that you got dropped off at the TTC but that was back years ago. I think the last that they did that was early 1990's. They then built the Resort Bust Stop area at the Magic Kingdom entrance. Does anyone remember when the older style busses used different pennant type flags to distinguish between different parks and resorts instead of the actual read out that we now have? :sad2: LOL We would have our little brochure with the different symbols trying to figure out which bus we wanted. That was in 1994.

Just a word, you will find that, for the most part, the bus loading/unloading areas at the resorts have the deluxe resorts closest to the entrance, then the moderate, the the value. But is still better than where off-site buses and the parking lots are!!!

we're going to have a great trip and a large part of it is because of people like you who help us newbies out. the value of these message boards are priceless. thanks again.

Just for clarification, Aidensmom could have been staying at either WL or FW and gotten on a bus that dropped her at the TTC. Until recently, neither of those resorts had direct MK buses. FW still doesn't.

Does anyone know what the current order of the bus stops is at MK. I know there are two platforms for busses and last year when we were staying at the POR we were on the second platform. I know they move resorts around. Doeas anyone have a current line-up?

Actually, we came from POR....and my husband just verified we took the monorail from TTC to the gate....apparantly we must have gotten on the wrong bus!
