Well my parents know I'm a disney freak and as a welcome home from Afghanistan gift earlier this year, they gave me a check specifically for a WDW trip with my girlfriend. So since they covered the majority of it, I decided to pay the difference and go with the deluxe dining, hence the tons of restaraunts lol.

***Thinking about dropping buffet breakfasts to;
have points to use to dine at california grill, narcoosses and artist point
be able to sleep in or beat some lines early in the parks. What do you guys and girls think?

10/13 - Arriving in Orlando around 9:30am
- Dinner - Coral Reef Restaraunt 8:30 PM

10/14 - 9:05 AM - Crystal Palace Character Breakfast
- 2:20 PM - San Angel Inn Lunch
- 9:30PM - California Grill Dinner

10/15 - 8:55 AM - Cape May Cafe Character Breakfast
- 2:15 PM - Le Cellier Lunch
- 8:00 PM - Polynesian Luau Dinner Show @ The Polynesian

10/16 - 8:40 AM - Tusker House Donald's Safari Breakfast
- Dinner undecided, about 5pm after AK closes, before Halloween party

10/17 - 8:15 AM - 1800 Park Fare Character Breakfast
-7:00 PM - Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

10/18 - Leaving Orlando at 5:00PM :sad1::sad2:
- 7:30AM - Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast

That's alot of food on the 14 and 15th.... Three large meals each day. You did space them well, but I might skip lunch on one of those days and book something else on a different day instead.

For the night you are going to the Halloween party - maybe book a dinner at one of the monorail resorts?

Well I figured since the lunch and dinner is spaced about 7 hours on the 14th and 6 hours on the 15th, with all the running around we should be fine. Last time we went, we never had to eat in between. I get what your saying though lol. We never eat a lot at the breakfast buffets, it was more for the atmosphere and character pictures.

Does the monorail make it easier? I know polynesian has a monorail and that would work.

First and foremost; from an old 11-Bravo to an 0311 welcome home and thank you for your service.

As to your choices if you’re happy that’s what matters. I’m not a big fan of San Angel Inn and would rather eat at the Biergarten but that’s just my opinion.

If you’re going to MNSSHP and want to eat in or near the Magic Kingdom I would suggest Liberty Tree Tavern or the three cafés, (Whispering Canyon, Grand Floridian or Kona).

If you’re not going to MNSSHP then I would recommend Jiko or Boma.

Have a great trip you deserve it.

Honestly...that is way too many breakfast buffets...I would rather use the credits for TS lunch and dinners and just use CS for breakfast

Ohhh man a fellow grunt! I'm an 0331, lugged around a 7.62mm M240 for 7 months. :bounce:

Yeah we're definitely going to the MNSSHP. My girlfriend also wants to do the Polynesian Luau show, I know they have a monorail to the MK. Still think I'm better off at Whispering Canyon though I guess? What do ya like there? I've heard it mentioned a lot, just no specifics.

Thanks!

Aren't the CS 1 table service credit anyway? All of the character breakfasts we're also 1 credit except for Cinderella's Royal Table I think.

In my day it was an M-60E-1 we called it the "pig" but I digress.

The Luau is fun and yes you can just jump on the monorail after. if you eat at Whispering Canyon have the skillet a little bit of everything and it's all you want.

My husband and I did the same thing last Aug. after his 3rd deployment so I am so excited for you. We did deluxe as well, and here are my suggestions.

I realize that you are a disney freak, like me, but have you ever done a character meal? They are... let's just say very high intensity. We had 3 booked for our 7 days trip and cancelled the last one just because they take a lot of energy (I guess that's the best way to put it). I just think that one each day is going to be too much for you. I would cancel at least one (my fav was 1900 park fair, so I would leave that one) and do another 2 credit restaurant. I would highly suggest Narcoossees. It's awesome and if you are a seafood person, you can get the $60 whole lobster! (of course they crack it all for you). Oh and you can see Wishes from the deck or restaurant and it is very magical, just in case you are thinking of making your GF more than that! :)

Instead of San Angel I would do La Hacienda. It's one of my favorite places and if you time it right, get a seat my the window and watch illuminations and get the empanda for dessert (I still have dreams about it!)

Oh and before Mickey's halloween party, I would suggest Kona cafe. Since you are on deluxe you can get sushi (from the sushi bar next door) as your app. and if you are a true kid at heart, you have to get the Kona Kone (you'll thank me!).

Also, the luau doesn't get that great of reviews, we cancelled it and went to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical review and that was really fun!

I don't think I saw this on your list, I would trade another one of those character breakfasts for Boma at the AKL. The lodge is really beautiful and something that I highly suggest you see. Dinner is also wonderful.
Well glad you are back home safely and have a great trip.

Oh nice. I might just switch the Luau day to the Halloween party day and make it 5:00PM instead of 8:00.

Yeah the m240g replaced the m60e3. My set up was mostly regular ball ammo, 100 round bandoleers with 1 tracer to every 4 ball round. Nothing more intimidating than seeing 7.62 tracer's looking like lasers before they tear your hiding place apart :rotfl2:

I got to fire about 1200 rounds of black tip 7.62mm at one point, the United Nations might not be happy if they found out the targets weren't armored :rolleyes1

Sorry for multi-posts, thought I'd be able to drop back and delete this and the one above!! Mod??

My first "insert" in Vietnam as the huey descended toward the LZ I saw green tracers coming up at me and I said out loud "wow I've never seen green tracers before." Everyone looked at me like I was a idiot then I realized they were shooting us.

Haha yeah forget the fact that four rounds we're coming at you for every tracer you were admiring! Lol it's all good, atleast your still here! I've got some nice shrapnel scars up my left side from one of those darn RKG-3 anti-tank grenades :headache:

I'm still carrying pin heads of shrapnel from an RPG, they couldn't get all of it out. Always fun with TSA when I get on the plane for Disney. FYI If you have a purple heart most states give you your license plates free.

Thanks for your service.

10/16, after AK closes, go to AKV, eat at Jiko or Boma, and hang out looking at the Savannahs, talking to the rangers!

Yeah it's free in New Jersey and Pennsylvania too, all service plates I believe. I'm going to wait until I'm back permanently on the east coast before I get it. Should help with the speeding tickets also!

Thanks for your service.

Jiko sounds very good, gonna see if the girlfriend is game for it! I picked like 4 of the places already lol.

Can't help you with restaurants (going first time in Dec.), though I would enjoy a couple of 2 credit TS's while you are there.

I just wanted to say, "Welcome Home! Thank you for your service and sacrifice."

Enjoy WDW!

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. If I keep only 1 or 2 character buffets, it free's me up to keep everything else, while going to 3 signature restaraunts. Thanks!
