My son and I ate at these restaurants last week:
Boma - dinner- My son wanted to go back here because he really like it on his last trip. Unfortunately, neither of us liked this restaurant this time. We had PS for 6 pm and although we waited only about 5 minutes for a table, the restaurant was extremely crowded. This made it very difficult to navigate around all of the food stations. We both had the chicken pepper pot soup which was good and then the prime rib. The prime rib was of poor quality, very tough. The sun-dried tomato hummus was excellent as were the desserts. However, I don't think that we will be back.
Teppanyaki Grill- My son and I both had the chicken and the meal was excellent. There weren't any kids at our table so the chef wasn't as entertaining as he might have been.
Alfredo's - Again, we like this restaurant last year. This year we were seated in the large room and the noise level was very high. Also, our waitress, although she was very nice, tried very hard to sell everything from appetizers to a bottle of wine for the table. Keep in mind it was just me and my 15 year old who cannot drink wine. Also, food was mediocre and very overpriced. My son had the beef filet and I had the pasta sampler. We skipped dessert. Will probably not go back again.
San-Angel Inn- Dinner - This is one of my favorites and we both had the filete motuleno. Very good and will definitely be going back.
Prime Time - lunch - My son really wanted to eat here. We both had the chicken breast sandwich. While the sandwich was good, I feel that chicken breasts need to be well cleaned of any fat or gristle before cooking. Nothing can make me lose my appetite faster than biting into a piece of chicken and getting a mouthful of chicken fat. My son was also turned off by this and he barely touched his sandwich.. Also, waitress was kind of nasty. We had smores for desssert which was good. I would only come back here for dessert.
Yachtsman Steakhouse - My son and I shared a New York strip steak. Although the waiter did not object to our sharing, he did feel that a 6 oz portion for each of us would not be enough. I found it to be a perfect size portion.
Columbia Harbor House- My son had the chicken pieces with fries but did not like it although I'm not sure why. I had the hummus sandwich which was very tasty. However, something made me sick that night and the following day. I suspect it was this sandwich but can't be sure. Also, since we ate frequently in the concierge lounge, I could have picked something up there. I don't understand why they use tongs for cookies, sandwiches, etc. Everyone, children included, handle the tongs and their germs are passed on to the next person.
Beaches and Cream - lunch- had burgers, fries and malts. Very good. Would definitely go back
I would be happy to answer any questions.
