I thought I would just say where we ate and let people ask questions if they would like to. We were there for 15 days, and there are four of us, so it is too much to write down, and probably too much to read!

We ate at:
Rose and Crown - Epcot - UK
El Pirata Y El Perico - MK
The Earl of Sandwich - DTD
Boulangerie Patisserie - Epcot - France
Cape May Cafe - clam bake dinner - Boardwalk area
Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe - Epcot - Norway
House of Blues - DTD
Leaning Palms - Typhoon Lagoon
Pizzafari - AK
Yorkshire County Fish Shop - Epcot - UK
Yakitori House - Epcot
Evergreens - SOG resort
Sommerfest - Epcot - Germany
Liberty Inn - Epcot - America
The Hollywood Brown Derby - MGM
Le Cellier - Epcot - Canada
Toluca Legs Turkey Co. - MGM
Aloha Isle - MK
Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe - MK
Rosie's All-American Cafe - MGM
Boma - AKL
Garden Gallery - SOG resort breakfast buffet

Wow! We spent a lot of $$$$ on this trip! LOL! :p
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer.

oh - and to answer before it is asked - I gained 5 pounds over 15 days. Not bad, considering I had something sweet every single day I was there! :teeth:

how was pizzafari and earl of sandwich? thinking of both of those for our may trip :teeth: ::MickeyMo :earsgirl: :teeth:

How were Brown Derby, and Rose and Crown (also if you had fish and chips how did it compare to the take out window)

We'll have you commenting on all of them anyway :rotfl: Never too much reading.

Would love to hear about your experience at Yakitori House! :teeth:

We ate a late lunch at LeCellier. We had a 3pm PS and were seated promptly at 3. Our waiter was a bit 'off' - forgetting the cheddar cheese soup (which is truly very yummy). He brought it late (with our meal with a reminder) and he deducted it from our bill. It is a cup size portion, but very satisfying just the same. They brought out the famous bread sticks - two pretzel, one multigrain and one sourdough - and brought more of our favorites just as they said that they would.
DH ordered the sliced prime rib french dip sandwich with fries. He said it was very good. I didn't taste it, but it looked good. He drank some beer...something that translated 'end of the world'. More alcohol than typical beer. He isn't a big drinker at all - but loves to experience different beer.
I ordered the Soft shell crab sandwich with potato salad. It was different than I expected - the crab was dipped in some kind of breading and deep fried I think. It was very, very good. I just drank diet coke - a lame attempt at weight control! LOL!
DD14 was in a miserable mood that day - she ordered the grilled steak burger and warm potato salad (not the New England style?) She didn't like that it was on 'an English muffin' and she didn't care for the strong cheddar cheese...hmmmm - I tasted it and it seemed fine to me! She requested grilled mushrooms on it - they weren't on it....see a trend? She drank the Niagara Refresher smoothie that was beautiful to look at and tasted wonderful.
DD12 ordered the vegetable lasagna four ways. It was an interesting presentation. Tasted wonderful - but much more than one person could really eat, IMO. She liked it (I know, all my kids like squash and mushrooms and garlic and just about everything there is to eat!) She drank the Chocolate Raspberry Shake - which was really, really good. More like dessert than anything!
In all, it was worth it. The dark interior made for a nice respite from the heat and sun. Everything was very clean and beautifully presented. DH was sick afterwards - initially we thought it was the food - but later realized it was a stomach bug that we all got at some point during our first week.
Hope this helps!

We ate dinner on a Friday night at the Cape May clam bake buffet. We had PS for 5:30 and were seated promptly - despite the crowd of people waiting. The service was very good and everthing was very clean. They put paper on the tables, which kids and adults all seem to enjoy coloring on. They no longer put the buckets in the middle of the tables for shells. We grabbed an extra bowl for them. The food was exactly as we remembered - although they only had grilled shrimp this time - no cold peel and eat shrimp. There was a lot on the buffet - some of what I remember was spare ribs, clams, mussles, clam chowder, tomato soup, salad and all the fixings, many different kinds of breads, baked chicken, fried fish, green beans, chicken alfredo, and kids buffet which had pizza and corn dogs and some other stuff. The desserts were great - oreo bon bons, apple crisp, cookies, brownies, key lime tarts, cheesecake....can't remember it all.
In general the food quality is very good for a buffet - things were hot that should be, and things that should be cold were. Things were kept full and the area around it kept clean. It is bright and airy inside, so a pleasant place to be. Wasn't too loud, even with a lot of people there.
Fountain drinks are included in the price. We were stuffed! We headed out for a walk on the Boardwalk afterwards. It was a beautiful night, there was a band on the beach area for a private party (but obviously everyone was enjoying the music), beautiful flowers, the pier to walk on, a juggler, etc. We ended up renting a surry bike...I highly recommend it, although it is hard to get up the hills and a little difficult to navigate around the people walking around. Anyway, plan some time in to explore while you are there!
Hope this helps!

We have eaten at both before - and felt that the selection was pretty much the same.
At Norway's Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe we ordered the Almond pretzel, Lefse Bread, Salmon sandwich, Turkey sandwich and coffee. The almond pretzels are huge. They are more like a light bread with a confectionary sugar type frosting on top. There are plain ones and then ones that are covered in both frosting and almonds. We opted for the almond ones and liked them a lot. The salmon sandwich wouldn't be for everyone. We like lots of somewhat odd things, so we like it! It is a cold open-faced sandwich with lettuce, cold scrambled egg and a rather large piece of cold salmon on it. We've had it before, and DH and I enjoyed it. The turkey sandwich was also open-faced and was pretty much just lettuce and turkey breast on bread. My girls liked it. Lefse bread is sort of like a tortilla rolled up with butter, sugar and cinnamon inside. We shared the two sticks, cutting them into four pieces. We all thought it was sort of plain - more cinnamon would have been good. For 2 almond pretzels, two large sticks of lefse bread, a salmon sandwich and a turkey sandwich and a reg. coffee we paid $21.99 with tax. We couldn't have eaten more. DDs and I brought our own juice in - this can save you a lot of money! There is a nice seating area as you walk out of the cafe line. Very pleasant and shaded.

At the Boulangerie Patisserie we ordered a plain croissant, a ham and cheese croissant, a Pithivier, a cinnamon type roll and strawberry mousse. It was sort of a "I'm hungry but don't know what I want" kind of day. The pithavier was a pastry full of an almond paste kind of mixture. The croissants were the best. They had quiche there, but it looked undercooked and kind of messy to me. For all of the above and coffee it cost $18.00 exactly with tax. There was less seating when we walked out (there is some inside to the left as you walk out of one door and into another, but it wasn't as pleasant as the Norway setting.) We thought the food was plain. We kind of thought it looked better than it tasted - nothing notably bad, just not 'wow' either.
The girls working in the Norway cafe were much more attentive and friendly. The girls in the France cafe were busy chatting together in French - and it did feel a little odd...like we were interrupting and then being rushed to a decision.
Hope this helps!

If you have a minute, could you give your run down of Earl of Sandwich? Thanks!

I was grateful for your Le Cellier review. We have a PS there for our trip based on a lot of great reviews here. Now you just threw a wrench into my lunch plans...I have always wanted to try a crab sandwich like the one you tried! But I also liked one of salads they have mentioned! What to do :)

We loved Pizzafari! We have always ended up at Flame Tree - the smell of that Barbecue always sucks us in! The pizza is ok - more of what kids like. They are pretty big. The deli sandwich is AMAZINGLY good. DH and I shared one. We also shared the caesar salad. The lettuce was very fresh and crisp. We also liked the painted walls - and had fun walking thru the rooms on our way out. The lines looked intimidating, but I think because of the limited menu they are able to move people thru really quickly.
For 2 cheese pizzas, a deli sandwich, an order of breadsticks (which are also a yummy treat. 4 large breadsticks with sauce for 3.99) a side salad and two large drinks we spent $29.00 with tax. We didn't finish it all. DDs are 12 and 14, and they were full, too!
Hope this helps!

We ate breakfast one day at Earl of Sandwich in DTD. Let me begin by saying that the service was great - everyone attentive and friendly. The entire dining area was clean and pleasing to look at. There is seating indoors and out.
The breakfast sandwiches were served on very large english muffins - toasted - and STUFFED full of your desired fillings. They had egg and cheese with bacon, sausage, or ham, egg, cheese and spinach and blt sandwiches at breakfast. We ended up with 3 egg, cheese and spinach sandwiches and an egg, cheese and bacon sandwich. Everything was hot and cooked well. We also got a muffin crown, a low fat strawberry yogurt with granola and two smoothies (dds couldn't resist!) and a coffee. We were so impressed by this place. Our total bill was $29.35 and we couldn't finish it all.

We went back for a late lunch - in fact we intentionally went back to DTD just to eat there! The line was very long - so we were initially worried about how long we would stand there. No problem though! They moved people right thru, but remained as friendly as in the morning. DH and I split the Original sandwich (which is roast beef, cheese, horseradish sauce, and???) and an antipasto salad. DDs each got the Cannonballs sandwich (meatballs and provolone) and kettle chips. The salads are soooo fresh! You get to pick out your own container of greens - all looked green and fresh. They open it and toss the toppings in these huge stainless steel bowls in front of you. The antipasto was very, very good - not like we are used to, though. It had tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, pine nuts...maybe more. For everything above and four reg. drinks our bill was $31.74 with tax.

You can buy beer and other bottled drinks, and there are lots of other choices. Everything is right out where you can see it and choose your own - which we really liked. You could easily share drinks - as it is 'fill your own' sodas.

Hope this helps!

Yum! I loved reading your reviews! We leave in 5 days and are eating at some of the same places you did. Thanks!

Was just looking at the allearsnet.com menu for LeCellier and (it's an older menu) it doesn't include the soft-shell crab sandwich. I absolutely LOVE soft-shell crab (hard to get in IL!). Hope it's still on the menu in MAY!

Thanks for the review,

Took

We ate a late lunch (3pm) at Hollywood Brown Derby. We were seated within 10 minutes of our PS time - gave us a few minutes to take in some of the caricatures on the walls near the hostess podium. We ended up splitting two cobb salads - which are absolutely fabulous. DH didn't like how everything was cut up so small and mixed up - the rest of us loved it - and devoured them! We also couldn't decide on what we wanted, and decided instead to get appetizers with our salads. We love doing this! So, we had the mussels, a shrimp appetizer (the shrimp were huge...I think there were three very large shrimp) and a mushroom appetizer. I can't for the life of me remember the mushroom thing? The coconut shrimp were awesome. We all liked them (we cut them all up). The mussels were very strong in flavour...not quite sure...they were just really kind of fishy. Again, can't remember the mushroom thing. I'll look at the menu on the other site and see what it is! They also bring out some very nice rolls.
We saved room for dessert - creme brulee, and the grapefruit cake. Both were very, very good. I would love to have a piece of the grapefruit cake right now! They have some fun kids drinks there - a 'sour stitch' was the one my dds settled on.
The service was phenomenal. It is very elegant - almost too much to go in from the park setting to a meal like this. Even though we just did the salad and apps. we couldn't eat another bite. If you like being pampered you'll like it there.
For all the above and 2 other Coke's we ended up spending $75.40 with tax.
hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the EoS review!!!! I for sure want to try this! I'm a big salad fan and hoped that their salads were as awesome as they sounded on the menu!

Your food tastes seem similar to ours. Even my kids are adventurous eaters! :goodvibes

How was your meal at Liberty Tavern. I am on the fence about this one. I don't know how much appeal the food would have for us. Did you have lunch or dinner?

Thanks ever so much for answering all our questions!

--penny

P.S. It really sounds like you enjoyed your soft shell crab sandwich. They are seasonal so I am guessing it was a special.

And here I was wondering if I was the only one who planned their trip around food.

As for LTT....Mom and I and some friends went last year. I am allowed to say the gravy was better than Mom's....and that is saying something! Mom wants to go back every time we go....everything was delish!
