Just back and we tried some new places, and revisited some former favorites. Just a quick review of some of them:

I ate at Cinderella's Castle again. Formerly, it was a real high point, with great food, great service and the feeling of being special. I didn't think any of that was as good this time. The waiter seemed to not really want to be doing what he was doing. The food was fine, but not as good as before. The princesses seemed a lot more hurried also. Someone got engaged while we were in there, and that was fun to watch.

Boma's for dinner was kind of a zoo. They kept insisting my PS was for one time, not the time printed off from their own computer. They insisted the printout was wrong. ???? We got seated in the center area. I think I'd have had a higher opinion if we were off to one of the sides, in a quieter area. I kind of felt like the center with the big tables was kind of like a college cafeteria. My family had mixed reviews. I could eat very little of what was offered, so I really had to stick with the kid's section and the desserts. Some of my children loved it, some not. DH did. I left feeling like I'd spent a LOT for chicken nuggets and cookies.

The California Grill, however, was LESS expensive than Boma, and the food and service was great. That was with one of the children ordering from the adult menu, and DH had wine. Terrific food and we will definately return there. I felt it was a good value and went into it thinking I'd come away feeling like I'd spent too much.

Ate at Planet Hollywood in DTD. Food was so so. Prices were high for what it was. I didn't like the whole photo op thing they do.

The breakfast for the Sunrise Safari in Tusker House was GREAT! How do they make special bread/french toast taste so good??? Terrific service and everything hot and delicious.

Rainforest Cafe was a good value because we had some VKL vouchers. We got lots of food and went away full. The food was okay, not great.

Mara was surprisingly good and a nice value. We all had a hot meal and drinks and the total was very reasonable. The offerings were better than expected....I was just expecting cold sandwiches from a case.

Concierge lounge offerings were good and plentiful. Will definately do CL again next time.

Never ate at the Flame Tree Barbeque in AK, but boy, that place smelled great! Best food smell in the resort!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts! We're hoping to go to CRT for dinner near the end of the holiday. We're also hoping to eat at Boma!

Thanks for the reviews!
Would you mind elaborating on the photo op at PH? We have eaten there quite a few times and never experienced this. Do you know if its something new?

I don't know if it is new or not since this was our first visit. As we walked up the steps the woman directed us to the side and told us to smile. We were in front of a background of something. A few minutes after sitting down a man came to the table and told us our 5 X 7 print and 2 key chains were ready and he plopped a bag down on the table. He siad he had other photos to deliver and he'd be back since the package was $20. A few minutes later he reappeared and asked how we like the picture. I told him we really didn't want a photo package and he wasn't pushy at all. He just took the bag away. It was just a little strange. I don't think of late lunches at Disney World as an "event" to be made into a key chain.

STRANGE! I've never heard of the photo op, either!

What did you order at California Grill? It's on my must-dine list for next time =)

Thanks. We have eaten at Boma and loved it though the foods are really filling and heavy. Did you have starters and desserts at the Cali Grill ? I have wanted to try this for ages but the menu looks pricey.

Ameeydan: My DH had a spicy something or other from the sushii group and a fish dish for his entree. He said both were great. The sushii plate had 8 pieces and was huge! Not sure how he had room for his entree! I had a pork tenderloin dish served with risoto and something else I can't remember. It was so good! One ds ordered a salad with shrimp and a pineapple salsa vinigerette dressing(I think) and we were shocked! I kept saying, "you know that has green veggies in it don't you?" but he liked it, although he discovered he doesn't like avacado!
Yep, Planet Hollywood must have just added it then. That backdrop wall looked pretty permanant!!

I was beginning to think I am an oddball as we have not been thrilled (to say the least) with CRT in a long while. Years back, we had great b'fasts there, but over the past few trips they just have not been good. Food was luke warm, coffee was luke (Thank goodness, as they dropped a pot on my mom and DD 6), princesses were hurried (until the coffee dropping incident - then we had more princesses than we could shake a stick at!). So, we stopped going for breakfast and my life is much easier as I don't have to stress about those ressies! We do go often for lunch. It has always been good. You still get the beautiful castle and view without the harried atmosphere!

Thanks for your reviews! We agree! We love California Grill and go there every trip!

Thanks for your reviews! DH had been saying he wants to try CG, so maybe we should. We have a 4 year old so I have been putting it off.

We had wondered about taking children as well, but there were a lot there. It was a lot of fun for the kids, and after dinner we did the monorail loop, which they loved. My daughter and I saw a bride and bridesmaid in the bathroom; there was a wedding reception going on in the small room up there. That was fun for her, as seeing a bride is just as exciting as seeing a princess!! :cheer2:

Thanks for your input! I've had the photo op thing at PH happen at the one in Baltimore, so it might be a chain wide thing or maybe at just select locations.

Next time you go stop at Flame Tree BBQ, the food is very yummy and hearty portion sizes for the price!
