Where to store ECVs?

I'm planning on renting an off-site ECV for my mobility impaired mom for our next trip. We'll probably stay at SSR. Do you leave the ECVs outside of the room? Is there room for them inside the room?

(We've only rented them before when we rented a beach house and then we would leave it in the garage).

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Amy

All of the rtooms at all the Disney Resorts, even the value resorts, have sufficient space to park your ECV without it getting in the way. You might have to, depending on the resort, shift a table to chair but that should not really be a problem.

The main problem I had found was where to plug in the charger. The cord from the charger to the wall is about six feet, and so is the cord that goes from the charger to the ECV. There might be more of a problem if the ECV has a built-in charger.

You might want to bring along an about eight foot extension cord with at least a 15 amp capacity.

I have even used an ECV when staying in one of the value resorts and was able easily to park it between one bed and the window.

We spent 9 days at SSR last month with an ECV we rented from Walker Mobility. For the first 5 or 6 nights, we just left it in the hallway overnight & charged it there (no one would have been able to steal it as we had the key).

Before we even checked in, we'd spoken with a CM at SSR who told us we'd be able to charge it in the hallway & that it would not be in the way there. On about our 5th or 6th night, DH went to charge it & found that the outlet in the hallway no longer worked. He tried all the outlets on the hall, & none worked! Then we had to bring it inside our studio...it fit right in front of the kitchenette sink.

We did not need any extension cords.

Just a small warning;

any ECV can be stolen without the key! I'm not going to state on a public board how this works, but if a person knows how they work it's so simple a toddler could do it within 2 seconds, because they can simply drive away! (ok, the toddler would probably run it into a wall, but still ;) )
