Where to stay?

My family and I are going to visit DW in January 2006. My children DD's will be three and six. I have not been to DW for many years. When I was about 6 or 7 I stayed at the CR. I am trying to choose between the CR and WL. I like the idea of staying at the CR because I have fond memories of when I stayed there and I like the idea of the monorail. Although, I have been reading some of your posts and I am concerned about construction. The WL looks really cool and if I could get the kids bunk beds they would be in heaven. They would love to try them out. Can you see the fireworks from any of the hotels? Which rooms are nicer CR or WL? I am worried the bus may take a while and the kids are not patient (as expected). Any thoughts?

Thanks, Melissa

I've never stayed at CR, as it just does not appeal to us. But we've stayed at WL twice and LOVE this resort. We never found the bus service to be that bad. We usually made one or two stops at other resorts on the way to our destinations, but it really wasn't that bad. Boat service to MK helps.

I'd choose WL in a heartbeat over CR.

I agree with Grimley. WL is a wonderful resort, and you don't get that crowded feeling you get at CR. When my family gets back from the parks, we want to unwind a bit, and WL allows you to do so more easily than CR, IMO. We've never had any real bus issues at WL, though as happens at times anywhere on WDW property, they run a bit slower than you'd like. Other than the aforementioned stops at one or two other stops, the buses have always been a reliable means of transportation for us. Further, the boat to MK is quite enjoyable. It, too, may have a stop at FW coming or going from/to MK, but the extra 5-10 minutes is hardly what I'd call an annoyance. I always chuckle when I read of folks complaining about an extra 10-15 minutes on a bus or boat when they think nothing of standing in line for an hour to ride Splash Mountain. I think you and your family would really enjoy WL and all it has to offer. :earsboy:
