Where to stay?

Hello everyone, My family has just joined DVC and are home resort is SSR. We just returned from our first trip to WDW in Jan. and decided to join DVC. For that 1st trip we stayed at Pop Centery, and were very pleased with it. Now that we are members we are planing our 2nd trip for the first week in Dec. The only problem is my wife is having trouble deciding where to stay. I feel it would be nice to stay at our home resort for our first trip, She would rather stay at BCV or BWV. We are traviling with my inlaws and would be needing 2 studios. I was wondering what the benifits are to being in BCV and BWV compared to staying at SSR. Is the bus service faster to the parks from BCV & BWV compared to SSR or dosen't it matter to much? We like to return to are rooms around midday to allow or 4yol a rest (along with are selves) So my wife feels that SSR is to far away and that the bus ride would be to long. Thanks for any help and advice you can provide

it is not to far away.

BCV or BWV is only good if the majority of your trip is at Epcot or Studio - you can walk or boat to these parks.

with a 4 year old - I would think the majority will be the MK. the bus service at SSR would be around the same as the Epcot resorts -

however I would call NOW and make your reservation - Dec 1 - 14 is very, popular with DVC members and waiting too long - you might have to go on a wait list - no matter what you decide.

What a lot of members do is book now at your home resort for "busy" times and then at the 7 month window, see if you can change to a different resort if your family wants to stay elsewhere. (you have to have enough points to hold both bookings at once - which you can do day by day...so if you are using all your points for that trip in Dec, then I dont think this will work for you.)

Keep in mind that staying at whichever resort, traveling and seeing the other beautiful decorations is as much fun for us as going to the parks for the parties and special shows, and MNMCP! So no matter WHERE you stay, it will be amazing!

thanks ofr the help so far. I just booked for the 4th thru the 10th of Dec. and was told that the BWV were sold out for studios so my options are starting to narrow down. On another note how do I get a count down to vac.like evryone else, they are preatty cool.

Congratulations on your DVC purchase, and WELCOME HOME!!

You might want to stay at SSR for your first DVC trip. I tend to think that some people (like us) form a bond with their first places they stay, and tend to think of them as "home" always. Since you own at SSR, it would make sense to create your first DVC memories there.

I agree w/Granny! I also own at SSR and haven't been yet, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than ''home'' on my first DVC trip!
