Where to stay

I am looking to plan a trip over Labor Day Week-end for myself and my 6yo daughter. Which hotel would be best for both of us? I would love the GF, while since she love animals the AKL would be here favorite. The only thing about the AKL is you have to take a bus instead of the monorail. Also which one has the best program for kids, so I could get away for a couple hours each night and recharge.

Thank you all

The grand floridian would be great if finances allow. They have kids programs and since you will be spending a fair amount of time at MK, it would save lots of time. Enjoy

If you are intent on being "theme park commandos", I guess I'd go for a monorail resort. But if you'd like a really different experience, go for the AKL. It is wonderful. As soon as my DD-9 and DS-4 saw the pictures, they knew that is where they wanted to stay. There is so much to do at this resort that it is hard to leave. Plus the bus rides can be on the longer side, so you tend not to go back and forth as much to the parks. But both you and your daughter would love this resort! They do have childcare and there is a spa also for you. I vote AKL!

Thank you, I am still trying to make up my mind.

Another question, Which package should I add?, maybe the one with all meals?

It would depend on your situation. If the conenience is more important to you than the cost, then go with the package that has what you are looking for in it (some day my dream is to be rich enough to really enjoy the Grand Plan - 1 week at the Grand Floridian and 1 week at the Beach Club). Or are you asking about the Fall Special? If money is your main concern, I would suggest not going with any plan at all. Just my opinion.

It isn't the money. I wasn't sure if the package with all the meals included is worth, or should I go one lower?

I think it is a matter of preference/ personal style. I personally don't book a package. I booked my room thru CRO and when I arrived, used my DC card to get length of stay passes. That way I was able to take off the last day as we were not planning to go to the parks that day. As far as the Grand Plan, I don't think I could eat 3 meals a day while at WDW. Especially since many of them are buffets. But that is just me. On the other hand, with the Grand Plan, everything is included, so I imagine you try some things that you might not normally go for (ie spa services). So figure out what type of vacation you are looking for - a quiet easy pace or a no holds barred, see everything, do everything. There is no right or wrong answer here, just what you prefer.

Or perhaps you should go concierge. You get the food and drinks in the lounge plus the help of the staff with your planning. They can get you PSs, book child care, etc. That might be more of what you are looking for(?).

If you can afford it, go with the GF, since you don't want to be too far from things, if you want to explore while she is doing kid's activities. You could do the club at GF one night, the Neverland Club (my DD's favorite) at the Poly another night, and the Mousekateers Club at the Contemporary another night. Also at the GF, they have the Pirate Cruise, Wonderland Tea Party and Adventures in Cooking, which would give you recharge time during the day, as well!

Have a great time!
