I tried on the resort board, but no one could help me  I am planning our trip for July '09 (I know...July '09????????) Pity me :lmao: .

Originally, our trip was for this summer, and we had reservations at GF. I chose GF mostly due to the monorail (DD's are 5 & 2 right now), and a recommendation from a friend. Now, however, I am thinking that since the kids will be older (7 & 4), maybe I shouldn't base my decision solely on transportation ;) . We will go Moderate or Deluxe for this trip. I really liked what I saw for CSR, and Poly looks beautiful. What do you think?
We will spend our days like this: Morning: park, Afternoons: nap and pool, Nights: park, pool, relax.

I am also interested in which resorts have a "camp club" for the kids. DH and I just want to go to MGM and ride the rollercoaster one of the nights.

TIA!!!

Of the monorail resorts, we liked the Poly best as a family. It just was a fun and highly convenient atmosphere. Now I'm not sure about camps, but Poly does have the Neverland Club.

Have stayed in the Poly as a family and loved it, but I think any of the deluxes are great and being on the monorail is a great plus!!

We stayed at POR last time and we really enjoyed it. Our kids were 4.5 and 2 at the time. We travel in the winter, so the park hours were shorter and the weather cooler than summer and we spent NO TIME at the resort! We really just slept there and had a few breakfasts. So this time we are going to save a little bit of money by staying at ASMo and doing some extras like BBB and MVMCP. I would love to stay at a deluxe, but we really can't justify it when we don't spend time at the resorts.

Hi there,

As you can see from my siggie we've bounced all over the world and loved every hotel but we all have our favorites.

As for deluxe, we adore the Poly on the monorail with a view of the Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the beach every night.

As for off monorail deluxe, my kids DS9, DD8 all time favorite is the Animal Kingdom Lodge because they just loved the bunk beds in the Savannah room

Where the moderates are concerned we all just love the small-feeling Port Orleans Riverside... most of the other mods just 'feel' bigger even if they are not bigger in room count.

:goodvibes Good luck and have fun planning no matter when you're going:goodvibes

For a deluxe, I would go poly. They have a kids' club that gets great reviews and it is a beautiful resort (plus with Kona - you can hop from your room directly to Tonga Toast :thumbsup2 ). Love the poly.

For kis that are 7 and 4????? Oh its gotta be one of the lodges with bunk beds. AKL has the animals on site at the resort, which is so cool, but is less centrally located and the Wilderness Lodge is a family fave a boat ride away from MK. The bunk beds give you a bit of extra space with a queen bed for the parents. And the WL has a kids club.

I am another vote for the Poly!!! While you may get bunk beds at WL or AKL the rooms are much smaller. The Poly is one of our favorites. There is nothing like floating on my belly in that zero entry pool looking at the castle.:cloud9: Our kids love love love the Poly!!! You will not be disappointed!princess:

The Boardwalk and The Yacht & Beach Club are connected to MGM and Epcot by a walking path and boat. We like being connected to these two parks. You mentioned going to MGM at night. It was nice to walk right to the boats to get back to the hotel. You also mentioned the pool. The Yacht & Beach has an amazing pool. It is a beach-bottom, very large and beautful. We also like staying there because of the action on the boardwalk at night. We like the Yacht & Beach a bit more than Boardwalk because there are more counter options on the dining plan there and the pool is much nicer (in our opinion). These are deluxe resorts but run a bit cheaper then the Poly. Check them out before making a final decision.
