So we are planning the baby's first trip in last week of September, 1st week of October of 2014 and deciding where to stay with him. I've always stayed at a value or moderate resort since we never stay in the room or resort much. With him, this will be a whole new experience. We ate thinking maybe doing a one bedroom at one of the deluxe resorts, but not sure about how expensive we want to go. Our concern is putting him down to sleep while we stay up a little, watch tv, get ourselves ready for the next day, etc. Can anyone share their experience or recommend a resort that you think might work. Doesn't even have to be a one bedroom or a deluxe. Thanks in advance!

We stay at pop. My kids have all been so tired they sleep right through us staying up and me packing in the morning. We are going to be trying out the new AoA suites in may. That I am sure would be nice and would allow the separate room too. We have to go bigger since our family is now bigger too.

I agree that you do not need a separate room. Turn down the lights, put tv on low on side of room away from crib, you will be fine! Poly can't be beat for convenience combined with theming IMHO, but it is pricey. Aim for ease of transport wherever you stay.

Every kid is different so, if you think you need a separate room for nap/bed time, then do it. We did with our 2 and 4 year old and it was a life saver for our trip in my opinion.

As for which resort it depends on which park you like if you plan on going back for naps. If you plan on spending more time at HS or Epcot I would suggest Beach club or Boardwalk- walk or boat ride to both parks. We stayed at the boardwalk and enjoyed it greatly with our little ones. you can request a pool view on the lower level and, during naps, relax outside on your patio by the pool. if, during naps or at night, one of you are getting antsy you can walk along the boardwalk and will easily be entertained.

If you spend time at MK more then Contemporary/Bay Lake Towers since it is walking distance to MK.

B/c they are more expensive I would suggest renting DVC points from a member- david's disney vacation club rental cost $14/point. still expensive but cheaper than renting directly from disney

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I love the idea of the boardwalk! I honestly didn't even think of the resort when I was looking at options. I think we are interested in staying hear for its location and 1 bedroom availability. I know historically there have been some sort of promotions such as free dining or % off room rate during the week we want to go. So next research will be risk booking through Disney and hope for one of the discounts or rent Dvc points. If u wait too long on renting Dvc points I know that they may not have availability.
