Ok, I am planning my trip and I can't decide where to stay. I know the disney properties are out since they are way over the budget. I have read several review sites and all of them seemed to have mixed reviews. I am looking for something within walking distance and something with free internet access.

Help!! Any recommendations?

If we dont stay onsite, we pick Candy Cane Inn, but a lot of people like Hojo's too.

Here's the starting point:

Read all of HG's tip threads....especially his DLR for WDW Vets thread & his Hotel thread....then read all the rest.

The answer is a walking distance hotel located on Harbor (across the street) which includes Hojos, Fairfield, BW & others. Like Kari, i also like the Candy Cane Inn (alot).

To give a good answer, let us know the dates (& days of week), the number in your party (& ages), where you stay at WDW, what you want out of hotel etc.

Lots of choices....need more data. :)

Have fun planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

In October 08 we stayed at Ramada Inn Maingate, it was nothing fancy but it was clean. We loved that the walk was so close and the kids thought it awesome that the tower of terror was right across the street. When we went this past July we stayed at Desert Inn and Suites and it was even better. The rooms were a little nicer, it's literally right next to the crosswalk and I liked that there was underground parking so the car wasn't in the sun all day. We'd definitely stay at either place again but Desert inn wins out because it was a little closer and a little nicer. HTH

After our 1 night at GCH next month we'll stay 2 nights at the Anaheim Plaza ~ http://www.anaheimplazahotel.com/ ~$59 per night. I will most definitely switch to HoJo's if the ent. rate pops up. I've also had good luck with Priceline twice this year - both times I've stayed the the Crowne Plaza ~ http://www.anaheim.crowneplaza.com/ ~ paying no more than $60 total per night. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com and www.betterbidding.com for Priceline tips. The Crowne isn't really within walking distance ~ they use a shared shuttle with 1 or 2 other resorts ~ this worked very well for us, however on our MM day we took a taxi ~ $8 (shuttle doesn't start running till regular park hours).

I checked out mousesavers and connected through cheaptickets. I had booked though them before with good success. Don't know why I thought of that. Checked out the hotel deal on a couple of other sites and more importantly checked the reviews. I was able to get red lion for 50 a night cheaper than what candycane was coming in for price. Looks like the spot will work out well.

Thanks for the help and the suggestions!!
