My DH and I will be taking our 4 and 6 year olds on our first Disney trip at the end of September. We will be driving from Missouri unless some REALLY good arifare rates come out between now and then. Our first night we will be arriving late, so we are planning on staying at an offsite hotel. We just need a clean place to sleep and shower. Does anyone have any good ideas for a cheap hotel/motel close to Disney (within 10 miles)? While I would like a cheap room I would prefer that the decor not remind me of an Austin Powers movie. While there are plenty of cheap rates for motel on the internet for that time I don't know which hotels are a great value and which are so bad they should pay people to say good things about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

We got the courtyard at DD for 29 on priceline last month. And I think there is a 20 rate for the same hotel around.

On travelocity they have a good review section, I think you should be able to find something nice, by then.

Did you order the travel info from the Visiters Center, I can not think of the web address. they put out a large booklet on area hotels.

I would try to get the courtyard. Try valuetrips.com
Thye usually post the rates for the whole year. The Country Inn and Suites at Calypso Cay is new and they offer a free breakfast, too.

Thank you all for your suggestions. We have a couple of guides for the Orlando and Disney area. The only problem with the free guides is that businesses pay to be in the guides so they are not going to write in the description that the rooms have a funny smell and the bedspreads don't look the cleanest. We will be getting there Sunday night so I will check out the Courtyard deal. It is a great price and I have stayed at a few Courtyards before.

Again thank you all for your help!

I got the $20.03 rate for Courtyard! I'm so happy I thought that we would be spending the night at the Econo Lodge for $40. Thank you again for the info on the great rate!
