We are going to be visiting disney in november and want to stay off disney property to save money, which hotel do you suggest to stay? We would like to keep it to between $30 and $50 a night.
any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We will be staying at the Days Suites Maingate East this summer for $42-$49 a night. Ask for the Kiss offer. The rooms are 640 sq ft with separate bedroom, kitchen, and living room.

for good rates. I stayed at the Amerisuites last year for around $45

If you are going for a week(and it is not Thanksgiving week), you could try to get a condo off of Skyauction for around $260 for a week.

Many people on the boards use Priceline(check out biddingfortravel for tips), or Hotwire(betterbidding)

Try http://discounthotels.com We used this site last year and got Hawthorn Suites (Universal Studios Area) for $69.00 a night free hot breakfast every morning and free 2 hour hour every evening. Also, free bus service to all Disney, US/IOA, Sea World, Wet & Wild parks. Money well spent.

Another vote here for Days Suites Maingate East. We were there in Nov. 2002 and will probably return there this November. The suites are very spacious. The property is right next to Old Town which is a great entertainment complex with rides, shops and restaurants.

If you just want a plain hotel room, the EconoLodge Maingate Hawaiian is also good. We've stayed there 2 or 3 times. But for the price, its tough to beat the Days Suites.

Hi..lots of good advice for you from the folks above this post
....if Rock bottom is your goal do a 2 star priceline for about 20/night. You will be surprised how nice these accomdations are. If you have more than 4 in your group a hotel gets mighty crowded however.
For $38 on Priceline you can bid a 3 star which are a little nicer in terms of the overall amenities, but the rooms are about the same a 2 star. We do 3 star all the time "Disney Vicinity" only and have always been pleased.
If you are not the risk taker type and Priceline does not appeal to you, the suggestions above are all excellent.

Enjoy...Ted
