We have decided to get to Orlando a day early (or night, as the case may be) so we can enjoy more full days at the parks. We start our FW cabin ressie on Oct 17th (Monday), but we will make it into Orlando on Sunday night, after a long drive from Alabama. There are 4 adults and 2 kids. We need a place to stay for that one night to rest, so we can get up and check in at FW early the next day (hopefully) to get started on the fun. What would a good inexpensive hotel to stay at for that one night?

Thanks for the help!

ya know, we have added a day/night like this many times and have opted to stay at a value resort on property. they will transfer your luggage and all you have to do is go check-in at the next resort(FW) and be on your way to fun. :earboy2:

Wow, I had not thought of somewhere on property. Thanks for the suggestion!

You'll need two rooms at a value resort. Unless you can get a code, I think I'd look at the Embassy Suites either by the airport or in Altamonte Springs, which are generally available for under $150. That includes a full cooked to order breakfast, and they have a nice indoor pool to relax in when you arrive.

If you are looking for something inexpensive, I would try priceline. We have always added an extra day onto the front of our trip and have gotten inexpensive rooms from Priceline (2.5* for under $30, or 3* for $30-35) You can also bid 4* and resort too if you are looking for that kind of property. We have stayed at Fairfield Inns, Comfort Inns and the I-Drive Wyndham all of which were great for a place to rest for one night.

The Embassy Suites at the airport is OK, but not worth $150. Just stayed there on points in Nov. Glad I didn't pay. Anyway, I would certainly look into 2 rooms at a value (with a code if they exist) before an Embassy. (2 bathrooms, more privacy, etc.)

Since you are driving you may want to pick up the hotel savings coupon books at the Florida Welcome centre and choose a motel from there, if you can't get an onsite value room. We arrived one day early and couldn't get a room at any of the value resorts. We ended up using the coupon for Amerihost which was listed as starting at $99 in my CAA Lodging book and we got it with the coupon for $30.
