Where to Stay in Orlando

Hi everyone! My daughter and I will be in the Orlando area next month. I'm looking for a place for us to stay. I'm on a budget, no need to splurge, would rather spend money on entrtainment as opposed to on a bed.

Can anyone reccomend a place for us to stay? I would like to stay in an area that is centrally located or an area that will allow me easy access to downtown, Disney park, the water park, and other areas.

Is it safe to stay downtown Orlando? I was looking at the Days Inn downtown. Rates are $49 per night, with swimming pool.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

You might want to check on the Orlando resorts thread http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=15 do you have a car?? that will make a difference.. there are many disconted places on Ilo Bronson that are very reasonableor the Florida mall area. You can check Hotel Kingdom http://www.hotelkingdom.com/ and hotwire too..

Disney proper is in the Lake Buena Vista area which I highly recommend you stay in for safety reasons. I'd stay awaly from downtown Orlando and the IDrive area.

Tons of hotels in the LBV area to choose from. Go to www.hotelkingdom.com for prices and hotel descriptions.Day's Inns in Orlando have received bad reviews on the Orlando Board here.

Well, there's no reason to spend a lot of money to stay offsite! Go to www.biddingfortravel.com & bid on Priceline for a 3 or 4 star in the different regions, you're sure to get a great hotel for 49.00
