Hi there! I am travelling with my mom and two sisters to Myrtle Beach in Early October and we are looking for a nice yet reasonably priced condo to stay at. We want it to be right on the ocean and handy to restraunts and shopping! We are driving down so we will have a car. Can anyone suggest anything? TIA:)

Ocean Creek Resort is awesome--family friendly, and right across from Barefoot Landing. (North Myrtle Beach.) We've been going there for at least 12 years. It is an older resort, but the price is right.

We stayed at Ocean Park Resort 3 years ago. It is RIGHT ON THE BEACH. Its an older condotel. We had a one bedroom condo that slept 6, and a full kitchen. They have done some major renovations since we were there last, new elevators, etc. I paid less than $100/night in July through Expedia.

This place is by no means the Ritz, but a reasonable beachfront option.

We stayed at The Avista Resort which is in N. Myrtle Beach. We got a great rate during our last spring break $56 night for a 1 bedroom condo. It is relatively new and we enjoyed our stay. Right on the beach.

We always stay at Seawatch Plantation. It has a good location right by the Walmart and the Tanger outlets and right on the beach. We are actually staying there in Aug. again this year. Love it there and it is quiet.

Good luck!

My wife and I go to Myrtle Beach about 3-4 times a year. We stay at The Breakers. It is located at 21st Ave. North. They have a multiple hotels on the ocean, close to shopping Broadway at the Beach and Outlet Mall. They usually have great deals in Oct. We like it.

We have stayed at both Dunes Village (last week) and Compass Cove... both are about 2 miles from the center of Myrtle beach, but maybe a 5-10 min ride (depending on traffic) to Broadway on the Beach.

Of the 2, I liked the area where Dunes Village was better and I loved the indoor waterpark (well, the kids did!). I would stay at both again. Our next trip we are considering North Myrtle Beach.. possibly the Avista.

The forums on tripadvisor for Myrtle Beach are VERY helpful!

Good luck!

This past February I attended a work conference with friends and we took a little side trip to Myrtle Beach to relax. I found a place on vrbo.com that in the off season seemed very reasonably priced - it was $200/night for a 4 bedroom raised beach house. There was 5 of us and we split the cost. The off-season starts in October.

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs. It had great balconies upstairs and downstairs that you can see the ocean from. It was right by the Family Kingdom amusement park and a block up from Ocean Blvd. Not right on the ocean, but just a couple minute walk. Here's a link to the info.

We stay at Ocean Creek also. Usually 3 or 4 times a year. Never disappointed! It's so quiet , you almost forget about the chaos that is sometimes on the main road.
