Where to stay if going to seista key?

I have heard many of you comment on this beach but can you tell me where you usually stay at? I don't want a dump but don't want to spend a fortune either? Thanks

Siesta Key is quite a bit different than most beach destinations, in that there are very, very few hotels/motels on the beach. Only mom and pops except for the Best Western, which is just okay. Everything is condo, and lots of them only rent for a minimum of two weeks or more. We have been there twice, however, and love it. My suggestion would be to try Jamaica Royale, Island House, or Sarasota Surf and Racquet Club. They will all allow one-week rentals. Since they are all owned individually and views vary greatly depending on where you are in the building, be sure to ask for a good view and for a unit that has been recently updated by the owner. Let us know how you like Siesta Key! Best beach in America, I think, and I love Destin! But I think Siesta Key is better; it's just not as convenient for us. BTW, there will be a little blurb on the Travel Channel tonight about Siesta Key during "Beach Week" because it has been named one of America's Top Ten Beaches. Tune in!
