We are planning our next trip for April 2009 for 10 days. This past April we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and really liked it but hope to save some money this time around. We were thinking Pop Century but I've heard some negative things about crowds and noise. We will have our own car and plan on being up early for EMH's, come back to the hotel for naps and be out again at the parks at night. So all in all not tons of time will be spent at the hotel. No dining plan this time to save money also. Has anyone found it to be a better value offsite or is a value onsite the better way to go? Money is the #1 concern but we also want to stay somewhere we won't be disappointed in.

I love the WL too, but alot of time our budget limits our stays there. Our faves are the PO resorts. But this summer we wanted to go for a weekend and our budget is tight. If I am going to stay at a Value Pop is my number one choice. The rooms are very nice, but smaller then the mod/deluxe hotels, there is also only one bathroom sink and no little fridge. They do have a very nice foodcourt, several pools and children seem to love the big icons. This is very much a family resort with open hallways. We usually ask to be put on the back of the building facing the lake where it tends to be a little quieter.
Take into consideration how much will you really be in the room. I say give it a try or switch to a moderate.
