We are thinking about going to WDW for 4 nights. We do not plan to go to any parks. So the question is which resort would give the most activites/pools?
We have stayed at the YC/BC and we are fully aware of the wonderful pool. We have stayed at Poly, CBR, and CSR. So we know the layout of these resorts. This time we are considering POR or WL. Where do you think would be the most fun with the most activities.....we are a family of 4 w/ DD14 and DS12.

Also, just curious...In July, would the WL be cooler because of being lakeside vs. the POR. Would AKL and POR seem any hotter or steamier?....
Oh dear....I just have so many things I'm considering...
But mostly, where would offer the most activities within the resort?

We will consider ANY of the resorts.

Wilderness Lodge may be, or at least seem, a little cooler due to the wooded lodge theme. There's a beach and the usual resort water activities available on the lagoon, and the proximity of Fort Wilderness would offer a little more in the way of non-park activity than POR. I think I'd be bored at POR for 4 days with no park visiting (stayed at the old Dixie Landings in 1993) and I KNOW my kids would be. Have never stayed at AKL, visited for lunch once...unless you and your kids are huge animal lovers, you might feel more isolated there, than at WL or POR. Though from any of them you can hop a bus to Downtown Disney for shopping and eating........
You might consider the Swan or Dolphin. The Grotto pool shared by the two is great.........and there are 2 other pools as well, a game room, lots of dining options in the resort .........AND the proximity of the Boardwalk just steps away for more dining and non-park entertainment options, Fantasia Gardens (Disney mini-golf)is right across the street.........with the ages of your kids IMHO that area has a lot more to offer than either POR or WL.
Just MHO of course. Have fun :teeth:

We have never stayed and not done any parks so Im not really sure which resorts offer the most activities. WL is awesome , so
beautiful. YC/BC or BW would be great if you plan on hanging out on the Boardwalk very much. Each of these have the lakes if you want to rent the water sprites.

I'm pretty sure that WL has some activities, tours which would make it more appealing if you're not going to the parks. Also, their proximity to FW, which you could walk over to, is nice. FW has a petting zoo, horse barns, etc. Also, I loved staying at AKL. They have a lobby tour. Much as I love the theme parks, when I stayed at AKL, I had no desire to leave!

Going to The Swan for 8 days in Aug. Myself, DH, DS 9 and DD7,
will be going to the parks at this time of our stay.

Then for the last 4 days it will be AKL concierge, to just hang out at the resort and rest up before our drive home.

We are really excited to be staying at the AKL.

Have a wonderful trip and I'm sure what ever you decide you'll have a enjoyable time.
