Where to stay - 1st 2 days near AK and DD?

Hi,

Disney Wife and I are doing a split stay at the end of Nov. beginning of December. The first two days of our trip will be spent at Animal Kingdom Park and Downtown Disney - two places we have never made it too.

We're currently booked for two days at Saratoga Springs in a Studio and have a rental car.

Considered staying at AKL, but the renovations are keeping me away.

We like pools, queen or king bed, any recommendations or favorite places you may have stayed when visiting this area of Disney?

SS is near DTD. AK is on the other side of the WDW property. The nearest resorts to AKL, the Allstars and Coronodo Springs.

I'm not a big fan of the values, so if you don't want to stay at SS and bus over to AK, then you could switch to AKL (there is major construction though) or go with the Coronodo Springs.

Hi Mike,
Are you just visiting Disney for those first two days of your vacation?? If so you can really stay anywhere on site... If you already have SS booked then stick w/ it... its a great resort and its very close to DTD & the AK is just a bus ride away...

Thanks for the replies - just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything obvious.

Jrabbit - Yes, the first two days of our Disney Trip is going to be in the AKL and DTD areas - so I figured a split stay, which I haven't done before. Whenever I stay close to MK, we don't end up getting to DTD or AKL and I wanted to fit those two areas into this trip, even if only for two days.

I'll stick with SS as I've heard it is beautiful, close to DTD and a car or bus ride away from AKL.
