Where to start with discounts?

I haven't planned a Disney vacation in about 6 years as we usually stay off site with DMiL and DFiL. This year DMiL wants to stay on site for a couple days with DH, DS3, DS1 and me.

I am at a total loss on where to start to get discounts like PIN codes, free dining, AAA, ect. Do I just keep checking Disney's website? Can you keep changing your reservation to reflect better discounts or are you locked in?

Any help on where I should start looking would be greatly appreciated, I certainly don't want to just take the rate the website gives me!
