where to set base at waterparks?

can anyone help..
we have two boys aged 8 and 6.. both are not yet competent swimmers although the older one does like jumping in splashing about etc..we want to sit somewhere where he can have lots of fun...i noticed in blizzard beach a picture of children climbing over rafts or ice bergs with netting..he would love that...whilst the younger one still likes things a little tamer...can anyone suggest where we could set up base at either waterparks to accomodate them...we will always have to watch them but dont mind splitting the boys up at times and taking turns sittting near them..but one base would really be needed.

I don't know when you're going, but my advice would be to set a base in the shade as the waterpark is a top place to practice your lobster impression!- there's a good shady area in TL by the kids area & I think something similar at BB. The caveat is you would need to arrive early as these spots go quite quickly - especially in peak seasons

The area you are looking at at BB is called Ski Patrol - Disney say its for "pre-teens". Sam enjoyed it from our last trip when he was 9, although did go on the icebergs and net thing at 7.

Before that he went on the younger area called Tikes Peak which was much tamer but had many mini-rides.

The two areas are separated by walk ways (c.125-150 yards minimum), so if you have to split where you sit, you could have a problem. There are "facilities" between the two areas though for your convenience.

Agree with the tip to arrive early for best chance to survey and pick a seat!

My DDs enjoyed Tikes Peak and Ski Patrol at the ages of 5 & 8. Ski Patrol is definitely for older children, but there are some tube rides that are suitable for all ages I would say. My 5 year old spent an hour going up and down!
