We are camping for 5 nights at Disney before boarding the Disney Dream for a 4 night cruise. We were going to leave the camper at a friend's house but Irma has changed our plans. Has anyone ever parked a camper somewhere while on a cruise, if so where? I called Disney and once got told we would have to stay before and after the cruise. When I called back to make those arrangements I was told I would have to pay for the site while gone. TIA

There is parking at the Port, for a charge.

1) Huh?
.
2) I work at The Fort and I have never seen Rv/camper/etc unattended parking for a charge.
3) Please explain your experience.
4) IF (repeat IF) it is a slow season, you might be able to keep the unit in the overflow lot . . . l but doubtful.
5) We are not in the business of storing RVs/trailer/etc (unattended while people are not on-property).
6) As you were told, you can reserve and pay for your site for the days on the cruise and keep the RV/camper/etc on that site.
7) There are other campgrounds in the area where you can store your unit on a daily charge.

NOTE: Why would the campground allow you to store a vehicle when you are elsewhere? The Fort does not get any revenue from cruises, as they are a separate company and separate entity. This could overcrowded the lot and not allow enough room for those with legit reasons to park vehicles during their stay.

Port (as in Canaveral) not Fort (as in Wilderness).

TRS may have had to much Port (as in wine).....It's ok TRS, we are all human. Yes there would be no reason for the Fort to let you store a rig there. The Fort overflow lot already a used trailer lot. We saw some of the same trailers still there when we left after a 2 week stay.
But I believe I read in another thread that Port Canaveral does have parking for big rigs, but I don't remember if it was an extra charge or how much.

I found this and it does say they have camper parking at the port and there is an extra charge if over 20ft. Looks like $140 for 4 nights

Yes, prior history has been...

If you stay at the Fort before the cruise, as you are, you have a chance:

--- if space is available/demand is low, they will let you park in the Fort overflow lot
--- if space is tight, no go. It's the Guest Services Desk Manager's call at the Fort.

People ask if they can park their rv/trailer at the Fort FIRST while they do a cruise, then stay at the Fort after they return...

--- The Fort has been burned by this. People don't always return thus no "cruise first, Fort second" stays.

Port Canaveral does have parking for oversized vehicles such as an RV or tow vehicle/trailer combo.

So it MIGHT be possible but it's a decision made by the Fort management which may not go your way.

PS - you said you called "Disney" and asked the question and I can almost guarantee Teamubr's next Fort stay that you didn't talk to the Fort Front Desk. Most calls to the Fort's listed number end up at a Call Center where you can almost be guaranteed to get a different answer every time you call. So you can have a Plan A which is you can do the Fort overflow lot but you should also plan for a Plan B which is to park the trailer/rv at the Port lot and pay the fee. Or use your friend.
