We are going to Disney World during Thanksgiving this year for the first time. Normally we go in December and last year we went earlier in November.
We are going back and forth on where we should eat our Thanksgiving meal. My husband wants to go to Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner but I'm not so sure because the menu is so limited. :confused3

What would you recommend?

Thanks.:thumbsup2

Are you going to be in the MK that day? I've never been at MK on a holiday, but I've heard sometimes it fills to capacity and doesn't admit new guests. I'd hate to have an ADR there and not be able to get in. Maybe someone with more experience with the MK on a holiday could chime in.

We'll be at WDW on Thanksgiving and I'm planning to make my ADR for T'giving dinner at either Boma or Trail's End. We don't really care about a traditional turkey dinner, but I think both of those do have standard T'giving fare in addition to other choices.

We are thinking of Liberty Tavern but we many change and celebrate Thanksgiving another day that week and go to HOOP-dee-doo review

We'll (eight of us) be there on Thanksgiving too.

DS10 wants to eat at Chef Mickey's so that's where we may go.

We let him pick the meals on Christmas Day 2007...'Ohana for breakfast, Chef Mickey's for dinner......DD13 never seems to mind.

Are you looking for a traditional Thanksgiving meal?? or just somewhere good to eat..

If so, I believe if you call dining they may tell you who is cooking a turkey dinner with all the fixings and choose that way.. One time we had a delightful turkey dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe..

I was thinking of staying away from Magic Kingdom that day because I heard it can get crazy there. I did hear about the fact that the park could close due to capacity but I forgot about that. This could be a problem.

My husband would like a more traditional Thanksgiving dinner, that is kind of why he was thinking Liberty Tree Tavern would be neat because it is Colonial. But I told him that the meal isn't much to choose from so I don't know if this would be our best bet.

Here is a link to the Dining info here on the Dis (other link is in the blue line at the top of the page). It's to the 2007 Thanksgiving dinner info, but I'm using it as a guide for this year until the 2008 stuff is announced. It shows what restaurants had a Thanksgiving meal in addition to or in place of their regular menu.

When we were there for Thanksgiving in 2005 we had our Turkey Day meal at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. It is like eating in a 1950's kitchen. You could order off of the regular menu as well as having the ability to order a traditional meal if you like.

I just want to add this link from allears. It gives you the type of meal--buffet, family style, a la carte, etc--that each restaurant offers.

Our family really loves the Liberty Tree. Their food is much like a Thanksgiving meal on any day. They have mashed potatoes, veggies and different kinds of meats, including turkey. I give them a :thumbsup2
