I'm looking for suggestions for where to eat dinner at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Thanks

Our faves at Studios are 50's Prime Time Cafe - for really good food and fun; and Sci-Fi Dine In Theater for average food and GREAT theming. :)

For CS we like Toy Story Pizza Planet.

I second Sci Fi. My family really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I can't remember what I had to eat, I know it was a soup.

It really depends on what you're looking for.

Fine Dining:
Our favorite restaurant on property is Hollywood Brown Derby  Food is wonderful & service is excellent! It is a Signature restaurant, so on the DDP it's 2 TS credits. Even when we've used the DDP, we've paid OOP because it's not that much more expensive than many of the other sit down restaurants (example, we paid almost as much at the Princess dinner in Norway as we did for 1 appy, 4 entrees, 4 desserts, 4 drinks & 2 "adult" drinks)

Themed dining:
Sci-Fi is a lot of fun, and we've always had good food there. Nothing fancy, it is a "drive in" after all ;)
50's PTC is also a lot of fun with good "comfort" food.
Mama Melrose is a pretty good Italian restaurant, think Olive Garden

We've only tried H&V once, but will never go back. Food was awful. There are way too many good choices to take a chance going back to H&V

One of my favorite things to eat in all of Disney World is the grilled veggie sandwich at the Backlot Express...:goodvibes

Either Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time. They've cut back the menu at Sci-Fi quite a bit and we detest H&V and we did not care for Brown Derby and haven't gone back to give it a second try as we don't think it is worth two table service credits

Our favorite is the Brown Derby. It's a great place to sit down and relax and enjoy great service and a great meal. We always start off with their cremini mushroom raviolo and the crab cake. My DH always has their steak with boniato mash and I always have their Cobb salad. You leave there relaxed and full! In my humble opinion The Brown Derby is the best restaurant at Hollywood Studios hands down. Enjoy!

We just got back and ate a Mama Melrose with a Fantasmic Dinner Package and it was good, you get appetizers, your meal and dessert and the reserved seats for Fantasmic.

The tiramasu was ok, the cheese cake was great. The girls really liked the sorbet.

We love Mama Melrose's and go there everytime we go to MGM, sorry, DHS, can't get used to the new name. Food is really good and I have to say the homemade sangria is awesome and a must have for us everytime.

We had dinner at the Brown Derby for the first time in May. We loved it, food was great. DH said it was one of the best filets he's had anywhere. I had the fish, it was really good. DD still raves about the Hot Dog!:rotfl:

But for fun we used to like the 50's PT, we skipped that this year though...seems it's just not what it used to be. The wait staff seemed to be in too much of a hurry. Food is good though.

when you ask that question and there are only 5 restaurants, you will get all five with favorable results. look at the menus, and pick which one suits you. i am sure you know all about the theme things at sci fi, and 50's. good luck.

I loved the 60's prime time also, nice theming and great staff. Can feel crowded as it is small but I liked it. It also has the only bar at the Hollywood Studios so you can grab a beer while you wait. Tammy

On our last trip we ate at both Sci-Fi and Mama Melrose. Sci-Fi was great. We had burgers and shakes- YUM! Mama Melrose was okay. My husband liked it, I didn't. I did really like the atmosphere there though.

I have eaten at 50's Prime Time twice...once in 2002 and in 2006. I enjoyed it both times. First time I got the fried chicken dinner and the second i got the pot roast. The chicken was good, but i loved the pot roast. I also got the angel food cake dessert...that too was great!
This is also a fun place to eat since it is supposed to be like mama's kitchen...they tease you and try to make you clean your plate and stuff...very fun dinner!

Mama Melrose & Sci Fi are delicious! Brown Derby is just o.k. but grapefruit cak is soooooo... good!

Anybody eaten at Studio Catering??

I've only eaten at Hollywood Brown Derby, but we really enjoyed it. Even my picky-ish husband loved it.

We have an ADR for H&V for this upcoming trip, but that's for breakfast. I've heard bad things, but my kiddos really love Playhouse Disney, so it's for them.

I would like to try Mama Melrose in the future, but SciFi and '50's Primetime Cafe hold no charms for me. I've heard bad things about SciFi, though it seems lots of ppl here love it. In regards to '50's PTC, I refuse to eat at a place where it's custom for my waitress to berate me for not finishing my plate. LOL. I've heard lots of ppl love it, but it would make me a nervous wreck.
