Where to go?

We would like to go away with evie in august for about 3 nights. We wanted DLP, but think it'll just be too expensive. Any inspirational ideas where we could go with a wee one, for a smallish budget??

Center Parcs? Nice and relaxing & lots to do



ETA - having thought about it, perhaps there isn't "lots to do" if Evie is really young. There's the pool complex and they do have some activities for babies, but it might not be the best idea.

We've just come back from Butlins @ Bognor. Our time was focused around DD(3) and DS's naptimes but Declan did love the pool especially sitting splashing in the shallows when the wave machine was on and there was a nice baby centre with mats and babyswings etc.

Another vote for Butlins here ~ we've spent many a long weekend up at Skeggie when the girls were younger, there's lots to do for all ages

Do you know what Verity, I don't think it matters a jot. It's just the being somewhere different that makes it so lovely!

One of our best holidays when Erin was 9 months old was spent in a little cottage just outside of Worksop, would you believe (though obviously I understand why you might wish to go a little further afield than that )

Another vote for Butlins as they are all at the seaside so you can walk along the front if good weather but has a pavillion if rainy.

We took our DD when she was six months to Wales and Scotland and Spain when 11 months. Not sure she knew much about it but it was nice to get away even if a little stressful!!!! We even took her to Alton Towers and she stayed asleep most of the time!!

what about the bournemouth area loads to do around there ! ive fond memories of the summers in poole park (when it was dry anyway )

What about a caravan in Devon or Norfolk? We are thinking about doing this in the summer. The site we have used before in Devon (Paignton) has a pool and loads of things to do nearby. If you go before or after the kids break up its really cheap as well. The caravans are very nice too!

We did Centre Parcs last year, and although the kids loved it, it would have been cheaper to do DLP and the accomodation was horrific!

We went to Legoland last Aug,booked through Superbreaks,1 night at the Courtyard Marriott With a 2 day pass,then went down to Eastbourne for a couple of days.I know Evie is not very old but im sure there would be enough there for her to enjoy,especially if you had good weather our 2 DD's spent a couple of hours playing in the water zone on the 2nd day and had a great time.

I agree. We had a great holiday a few years ago in a caravan on the Clyde coast. Troops loved it even though we initially thought it was not "sophisticated" enough.
