Where to go in the fall?

My aunt and I (who are only 8 years apart) are thinking of going on a first ever vacation together for our birthdays. Her's is Sept. mine Nov. so it would likely be in Oct. that we would go. Where is a good place to go to at that time of year, where we're not going to have to worry about hurricanes, etc. but the weather is still nice enough to get some sun? Thanks.

From everything I have read, I believe October is a very good month. The crowds are low. The weather is good [I think Oct is the second best month for low rain ~ second to April ~ my fav month to go]. S

Usually by the end of Sept, hurricane season is over making Oct good. Last year we went Oct.6-14 and only a few evenings was there rain.

In 2002 we went Nov 7-15 and the weather was beautiful not a drop of rain the whole week and the crowds were MUCH less than in Oct (except during "Jeresy Week "
