Where to go in florida?

We're taking a break from WDW this year (DS is 16 and were waiting for new grandson to get old enough). Right now we're looking at Cape Coral. Dh wants to rent a house with a pool, ds wants to fish and I would like the beach. So far I've found a house on a canal in Cape Coral with Sanibel 30 minutes away. We will attending Coke 400 in Daytona Beach. Is there anyplace better that Cape Coral?

Isn't Sanibel on the opposite coast from Daytona? How about something near Daytona.

We've stayed in Cocoa Beach last year and want to go somewhere different, plus Daytona isn't the best for ds to go fishing.
