Where to get the Best Breakfast??

Hi everyone! My family is going for our first DLR trip together for 5 days next month. We have an ADR for Carnation Cafe one of the mornings, but the menu doesn’t seem very exciting. Is Carnation Cafe worth getting a meal at? Or is there a better place to get good breakfasts food? I’d love to hear what you think!

I would cancel Carnation. It's our favorite, and a huge disappointment last October. We were eating at DCA, mentioned that we had reservations for breakfast every morning of our trip to a waitress. She cautioned us that there was a new chef and things were different. First morning, pancakes were dry beyond inedible. Felt like eating bits of dried rice. Tried the waffles the next day, same thing. We cancelled the next couple days after that. We always enjoy the Red Rose, but I heard they stopped serving breakfast.

Thank you so much for your honest review and advice. I was worried the food may not be as good as I’ve heard it was in the past. I’m going to think about it some more, but I think Jolly Holiday or breakfast in the hotel may be the way to go.

We had breakfast at Pyms yesterday and it was probably the best counter service breakfast I've ever had at DLR. We had the expanding cinna-pym toast, ordered some extra bacon and a side of potato bites (tater tots). One order with these extra sides is enough for 2 people. My husband also had a nitro cold brew which he said was very good.

Highly recommend!

My favorite thing for breakfast is the breakfast burrito at Galactic Grill! I love Carnation, but for lunch, not breakfast. Their fried pickles and potato soup are yummy!

Yeah, even pre pandemic, I was not impressed with Carnation Cafe breakfast.

Lunch is still very good, although the menu is a shadow of its former self, and the lack of milkshakes/malts is a serious strike against it. I used to love having fried pickles, a good cheeseburger, and a chocolate malt.

For the $/quality, Red Rose Tavern is pretty great. We do love Beignets from NOS as well. Outside of that, DL is pretty limited for good breakfast IMHO. DCA, Flo's is decent. Steakhouse 55 had the best breakfast on property IMHO. WISH they would bring SH55 back.

Red Rose Tavern stopped serving breakfast awhile ago. Flo's hasn't brought breakfast back since reopening.

I ended up cancelling my last trip's Carnation Cafe breakfast reservation because looking at the new menu and recent reviews, it just doesn't seem to be what it used to be. Which is such a bummer because going there for breakfast was a trip tradition. However, lunch there is still amazing! So maybe try to snag a lunch reservation if you can.

For breakfast, I agree that Ronto Roasters is a delicious quick option. It's usually a short or no line at all, and Galaxy's Edge has plenty of seating in the morning and is super quiet because everyone's rushing to RoR so I don't think Ronto's is most folks priority. My husband loved the breakfast wrap it was one of his favorites the whole trip.

I'm not sure where you're staying, but Mimi's Cafe near HOJO is really good. They have great deals that they send out frequently if you sign up for their email list.

We are actually staying at the HOJO! Mimi’s Cafe might definitely be a good option! Thanks!
