I know I've seen this on the boards before, but can't find it now. What is the best place to get the personalized Mickey ears? I have to bring one back for my niece. Also, do they charge for embroidering or is it free? Any help would be great. Leaviing on Thursday! THANKS!

There is a hat shop at the very beginning of Main Street on the right hand side. It is small-but you should see it right after you pass through under the railroad at the main gate. I think it is the first shop on the right.

@ MK (le chapeau?/hat store on your right as you approach walk down Main Street); proper names only, free embroidery on purchases.

@ MGM, on right side of main entrance toward end is a hat/embroidery place, they charge for the service.

believe DTD has one too.

BTW, don't be surprised if you have to wait quite awhile when they're busy (or come back later) for finished product.:thumbsup2

You are right about Le chapeau, which you can get to by going through the corner of the candy store on your right as you get to main street, however, there is a fee for the embroidery...somewhere around $2.00 per hat. we got there as we entered the park during spring break week and had no wait. it is so neat to see how quickly they do the names...the woman who did our ds's ears has been doing it for 25 years! she probably made a pair for me when i was young! have fun!

I got my Minnie ears emoboidered here and they turned out beautiful! Well worth the extra $2.00! :thumbsup2

Does anyone remember the Mad Hatters hat shop in Fantasyland? That's where we always went to get our ears of course we now go to La Chapeau. I miss it.

Thanks for the info everyone! Any idea how much the hat itself is?

i got some for my boyfriend last year at sir mickey's in magic kingdom (right next to snow white ride) and they were $6, embroidery and everything! so cute!!!

When did they start charging the fee for embroidery:bitelip: ...

end of June it was still "free" for golden mickey ears (yep, I pulled out my passporter & checked receipt LOL), planning for Oct. trip...

in MK it's hand stitched/free form, as opposed to the computer type @ Epcot.

Anyone else think they should keep the complimentary embroidery, afterall they're getting free advertising.;)

I am curious what the embroidery looks like. I remember as a kid it was cursive writing and I really didn't like it. Then I saw a picture on here of someone's son with his name embroidered on the back that looked like a child's writing sort of. Do they do that at all the hat places that sell the mouse ears? Or is it just at one shop?
