We are in the very early stages of planning a trip for next January. We are weighing all the options of where to stay, to drive or fly, etc. my specific question for this section is, if a family flies to Orlando, takes the Disney bus to the cabins at Fort Wilderness (no rental car), is there a place to get groceries for the stay?? I see there is a camp store, but like most camp stores it's probably basic supplies, right??? If we chose a cabin, one of the reasons would be to be able to do most meals from the cabin. Is this possible? If so, how???

Yes it is possible to do most of your meals in the cabin. We fly in and do not have a car, too. We have ordered from www.gardengrocer.com for the last two trips and recommend them highly. The groceries have been in the cabin when we checked in, with cold items in frig. and frozen in freezer. They also check with you at all stages, great customer service. The prices are just slightly higher then most big box stores but better then the limited supply at the Trading Posts.

Ahhhh, that is an excellent suggestion!!! I did not know about that! Thank you both!!! Going to look at their site right now. :thumbsup2

Can you order from them if you are pulling your camper? What do they do with the delivery?

We have used wegoshop.com and loved them. I looked at Gardengrocer and decided against them because their prices were really high and their selection very limited, as far as brands, flavors, etc. At wegoshop, you can tell them which store to shop at, and they provide links to the current store flyers so you can specifically choose sale items, etc. Basically you can get anything.

We stocked our cabin with meat, (boneless chicken breast B1G1), vegetables, dairy, plus things like granola bars (which were B1G1), cereal and snacks plus matchlight charcoal to use the grill. We told them what time we'd be there and gave our cell number. We received a call about 1/2 hour before and we said we were just pulling into the parking lot. She (I wish I could remember her name) said to call her back with our cabin number and she would meet us there. We pulled up to the cabin at almost the same time. We unloaded, and paid the bill right there.

It's best if you have cash to tip, even if you use a credit card to pay for your order.

I felt really good that we weren't overcharged for simple things and got a good value for our order plus delivery charge.

If you have a camper you can request a later delivery or check-in will keep your groceries for you. Call Garden Grocers and see what they suggest, they are great about working with you.

Another vote for GG. I even order produce from them. They deliver to the Fort often.
