Where to get Disney stuff?

We're going to surprise our kids on Easter with Disney Themed baskets and a note from the Easter Bunny saying that they are going on a vacation and can they guess where. I want to put things in their baskets that will be useful, but I need some suggestions on what to get and where to get it from!

I know I want to do Autograph books, water bottles that they can bring and I'm going to have some customs for my DD made and probably just appliqued T's made for DS, so I'll put one for each in their basket. DD's easier b/c I can do some disney jewelry and bows to match her outfits. And I thought I'd do a pair of Disney Crocs for each of them, no actually, I'll probably just do those for DS, I forgot I got a pair for DD on sale last year, but she saw them b/c she was with me and I think they are at the back of her closet.

What else could I do for in their baskets?

Also I want to do some sort of "count-down calendar" for them. Is there something actually out there, or do I need to make my own? I figured it wouldn't be hard to print out a calendar template from Easter until we go (mid July) and get a few packs of Disney stickers for them to put on each day. I was thinking too that I might mount the on a small corkboard and decorate the board with Disney stuff, then when we get home they can put their favorite pictures up on it and hang it in their rooms. Well I guess I solved my own problem there, that's pretty easy to do and will be cute enough! LOL! :thumbsup2

Subbing cause I'd love to find some large sized Disney retractable Pens (autograph book pen size)

I know some stuff you can get at Dollar stores. I got one of those slider puzzles there for my 2 nephews I am going with in May. And HSM crayons, too.

This has been posted before but Target has an endcap filled with Disney stuff for $3.99 ea. I thought some of the items were cheaply made and overpriced at $3.99 (more a $1 item), but they had little spinny light up wands that will be great for fireworks/ night-time parades, etc. I picked up a few of those. Target also had mini coloring books with stickers in their kid's book section for $1.60- great for the plane or hotel room, and won't take up a ton of room.

Disneyshopping.com has some adorable Mickey/Minnie/Stitch/Eeyore/Pooh Easter plush right now.

There may be a few more characters....I can't recall.

I would get them each matching Disney shirts to wear. Walmart or the Disney store has some nice cheap ones. I also found Disney tattoos at walmart in the party section. Target and Michaels Art and Craft store has some Dusney stuff including lanyards in the dollar bins. We are going in May and the kids already know but I am doing Disney baskets for Easter this year.

World of Disney at DTD had some great Easter plush out last night (Mickey and Minnie dressed like bunnies, sitting in "eggs"...very cute. I'm sure they'll put a little more out as Easter gets closer.

But for anyone interested, I'm local, I'm at DTD all the time (going tonight, in fact, to get something for someone) so if you need something (i.e., autograph books, Disney dollars, etc.), I could probably get it and arrange to just send it to you.

I just thought of something else - DD got a ToothTunes toothbrush for christmas and it plays "Hakuna Matata" as the child brushes. Very cute - your kids could either use it along with their countdown or you could save it for the trip. I think it was from Target. Maybe they have other songs, too.

Oh Thanks that is a good idea too! I could also try to find some other disney "bath" items and put together a bag for each of them to use on our trip.

Thanks for the tips - tattoos and lanyards are great ideas! I'm putting together a shopping list!

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm writing them all down on my shopping list. Now I just have to hide the list and the bags from my DH! ;)

I bought a Mickey head paper punch at Michael's. We made a colored Mickey head for each day (every week was a different color) with the date on it. We punched out enough black Mickey heads for every day on the calendar.

Each day one of my kids gets to cover a day with a black Mickey head. It is a good visual for them (ages 7 and 4) to be able to see how much longer, and it was a change from the paper chain we made to countdown for Christmas.

It is hanging on our fridge, so we all see it everyday!

We are doing the exact same thing! I have a Mickey plush for each of my girls, the birnbaum guide for kids for DD#2, a fairy godmailer is sending them postcards... Thought I might try for Disney Dollars, autograph books, water misting bottles, lanyards.... I want to make Tinkerbell bags for them when we get there to get each night with the stickers, etc. to take into the park that day for wait times so I've gotten some Hannah Montana post-its and a dry erase board for DD#1, and bath books w/ nemo and princess at target.

Crocs site has the disney crocs on clearance as of last week!

I also ordered some nightgowns and t's on clearance on disneyshopping.com I think 12 for gowns and 5 for t's?

Keep those ideas rolling!
