I love food and eating as much as the next person - but I have a tendency to put on weight when I travel, so I try to eat healthy when I can. Can anyone suggest places where there are healthier food options in the theme parks? I wont be able to manage eating hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, pizzas etc for 6 days!

very easy to find grilled chicken at counter service places and salads. if you do opt for burger, try getting the carrot sticks or apple slices i have seen at some places that you can substitute for french fries. i too try to watch "somewhat" of what i eat. i walk and swim alot when in disney so i'm not that worried about every little bite. another thing i do is limit specialty drinks (love frozen mixed drinks ) to one a day...if possible ;) i drink lots of water.

you'll be fine. just make better "bad" choices and drink lots of water.

I'm not going to totally rack my brain but just off the top of my head:

Greek Salad, Studio Catering Company at Studios. Also, Chicken Caesar Wrap if you don't mind the tortilla

Seared Tuna or Goat Cheese and Beet Salads, Sunshine Seasons, Epcot

Vegetarian platter, Tangierine Cafe, Epcot

Salad with barbecue chicken, Flame Tree, AK

That hummus sandwich, whatever they call it, Columbia Harbor House, MK

I agree w/ pp. It is easy to make "healthier" choices...it does take some will power though. Every CS place offers some type of salad. I got the veggie wrap from Electric Umbrella (with apple slices). It was great. Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion in EPCOT also offers some healthy and fresh options. In Magic Kingdom Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe has the widest variety of food. In Hollywood Studios Backlot Express has a good salad. At Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kindgdom we usually get the 1/2 Chicken Plate and a Fruit Plate and split it between myself, my husband, and my 2.5 year old son. It was plenty of food.

Also, you'll be doing a LOT of walking, so a dessert here and there shouldn't pack on the pounds.

Have fun!!

I hear yah! I try to eat healthy when I travel too. I allow myself one treat per day at WDW, because I know I'll do a ton of walking to make up for it. If I don't limit myself to one treat, than it turns into 50 treats!

Anyways, heres what I've found so far in my travels:

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco/Epcot: the hummus and taboule are delicious and the chicken is roasted and not greasy at all.

Sunshine Seasons in the Land/Epcot: lots of great salad choices, fresh vegetable options galore, lean deli meat, grilled chicken, salmon, and tuna options

Pretty much every CS place offers grilled chicken sandwiches and chicken salads. Many places also offer veggie burgers which I think are Gardenburger brand. TS places will accomodate your every dietary need! I think as long as you choose lean & grilled meats, ask for no sauce or sauce on the side, and ask for your veggies steamed, you should be fine!

They also sell lots of fresh fruit and fruit salads, fat free frozen yogurts, regular yogurt no sugar added ice cream, lowfat pudding, sugarfree jello, etc...You can substitute fries for fruit and raw veggies at most places.

As long as you have willpower to say no to the other stuff, you should be fine with options everywhere you go!

You can ask for fresh fruit instead of desserts at a lot of CS/TS places.
