Holy Toledo Batman...DW just said that if she found some flattering bathing suit bottoms that she would be more willing to spend time in the pool/at the beach on our Florida vacation this summer. She said that she'd even think about wearing her bikini top that she has never worn anywhere but a private pool with just our family. She looked at some things on line and likes the look of board shorts, but there aren't that many plus size ones out there that we found. She is one of those women that is an 18/20 at the waist, but much smaller the rest of her body. Anyone know of an online store that may have a good selection of plus size board shorts. She didn't like the skirt looking ones.

I like the swim shorts too. I get them from Lands End, they have 3" inseam up to 9" inseam if she wants more coverage.

There are a ton of places that have started to carry them in the last year. I have bought them from the following stores:

Old Navy
Lane Bryant
Avenue
Fashion Bug
BCOUTLET.com

Hope this helps.

I found a pair of really cute board shorts(solid black with an inner pink waistband) at Target. I am a size 18 but bigger in the hips/smaller waist.

Old Navy usually has cute ones. I bought a pair last year. If she's 18/20, she probably could wear their XL (possibly XXL, but they would probably be too big).

Try boardshortsworld.com
My sister and I just ordered a pair, never tried them but some styles go up to a 28-30, the inseam also goes up to a 10.5 or you can custom make them for a longer inseam. They have solids and prints and they are very cool looking.

I also saw some longer ones at Target, as well as some shorter ones at Walmart.
