My Mom has always wanted a Mother's ring. I thought I should get her one for this Christmas as every year I think about it it's too late to be able to receive it in time. Do I get just two birthstones (my brother and I) or do I get my Mom's too? Anyone know where I can find a nice (but not crazy expensive) Mother's ring in gold? I'm looking to spend around $200 (but not more than preferably). Thanks for any help!! :goodvibes

I'd like to know too.

JC Penney has a large selection, but I saw them in the store and the stones are itsy-bitsy. I don't want the ring to look cheap.

Have you tried QVC online? Also try some of your local jewelry stores because they have huge catalogs with all types of mothers rings with different price points. I also saw some mothers rings and necklaces at Sams club the other day.

We got my grandmother one years ago. Her stone was in the middle with my mom and uncle's stones flanking it and then on the outside of them were her grandchildren's birthstones.

I don't remember where we got it, but I remember it was from a jewelry store.

Get the stones for the children and a stone for the mother.

I got a beautiful mother's ring from Walmart last year. 14 karat gold for a great price! You can even go to Walmart.com and design the ring!

I may be the odd one out, but when DH got me a "mothers ring" when DS was little, I was sort of disappointed that it only had DS and my stones in it. I would have liked more of a "family ring" with all three of our stones in it.

My 99DGM has a "mothers brooch" with stones all in a circle, starting with her children (in order of birth), moving on to her grandchildren, and then her greatgrandchildren.

Believe it or not....try walmart. They are reasonable, you get to pick what type of gold/silver you want. They outsource the business to someone else, you order and pick up. I got mine 12 years ago and I have worn it every day (never removed) and it is great!

I ended up getting a necklace and prefer it over a ring, it gets more use. The stones we got were each of the boys birthstones, the husbands birthstone and because mine is a pearl (no pearls that fit in that setting) I got a diamond for me :)

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions!! :goodvibes I like quite a few rings on Walmart's website. My only problem is that I can't get a genuine ruby (my brother's birthstone) and I don't know if it'll look cheap (all of the other stones are genuine).

I would like to get my Dad's birthstone too as my parents (after 32 years) have always been the type to treasure each other first and their kids second (that sounds bad typed out but I mean they let my brother and I make our own mistakes, deal with a lot of our own problems, we were never "Daddy's princess" or a "Mama's boy", and they were always a united front against my brother and I when we were asking for something or in trouble ).

This is my favorite so far:

921-500

These are all of our actual birthstones and I can select whatever order to put them in so I think I might put them in reverse order and have my Dad first (he's smoky quartz-June)?

I would love to do this for my mom and make like a family ring but am not sure what to do because we have a lot of duplicate months.
My sister and I are twins (May).
My sister has twins (June)
My DH and my sister's DH's birthday are on the same day (March)
My step DD's are twins (May)
My mom's bday is in September
My dad's bday is in October.

Do I just do one stone for each month, or do I do 1 stone per person?

I would go and look at them in person before ordering online. I got myself a Mother's ring a few years ago and was so diappointed in it when I got it.The stones didn't look genuine and the ring itself just looked "cheap" although it wasn't. I never wear it.
This past Mother's Day I had a necklace made by a seller on Etsy. It is very simple, 3 small charms with my kid's initials engraved on them. I love it, wear it every day.

I would not go to walmart, I got a mothers ring last Christmas, I could only wear it for special things, It made my finger raw like hamburger my finger burned horrible. Then the ring broke in half to show the plastic in the center. The stones looked fake and you can get the ones you want. For example dd is October so she has the pink stone or opal. I hate pink but had to get it as it was the only option.
